!No ideas, no hosts, no fires, !no songs

No Hosts

Y'know, I really want to host my game, but should I wait for 64digits to upload all 27 MB's of it? Any why in the world did my game jump from 9 MB's to 27 MB's when all I did was add a little spice here and there? I would really like to host it, but since complaining like a Jew (I have some Jewish cousins, by the way. I also have about three times as many cousins spread over the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Hawaii) won't help me at all, I think I'll stop right

!No Ideas

How do people get insanely long blogs with such a hard-to-read text? I really just don't get it? Actually, I'm just passing the time typing this, so I think I'll upload a screen of my game while I'm at it. Nah, I'll just point at the topic on the Ultimate3d forums:

http://forum.ultimate3d.org/index.php?showtopic=420

That's right, topic number four-hundred-twenty. Kick ass right there.

Anyways, I'm trying to convince my mom to let me and my dad buy Gears of War for PC. Looks like we're going to have to do what we did with Quake 4, but of course I never said that.

But how exactly does this relate to having !no ideas? I'm not sure, but I really think I'm doing a good job texturing, no? Here's a pic, if I can get it to work this time around:

I hope that works. Anyways, if it does work, the textures are all done without copying from an external image. The wood is done by shearing brown clouds, and the scratches and metal I also did using clouds. Yes, awesome so far, right? My little brother and I have decided it's going to be a charge-up-laser-crossbow-beam-shot, or I like to call it the Trishot (reasons obvious.)

I haven't worked on it for about a week, however. I'll finish it the next demo release (maybe.) If it's a decision between the Trishot and multiplayer, what should I do?

OMG, it just finished uploading, and its not FREAKING THERE. AHHHH! This is totally lame. Suggestions are helpful.

No Fires

About that. Everything is all good now. No more destruction or anything. Yeah, clear blue skies, and cold nights, just like Southern California. Dang, look at the sky.

!No Songs

I wrote my first song that actually sounds good. You see, I was bored, so I decided to put Shine On You Crazy Diamond Pt 2 on ModPlug Tracker. Yeah, it turned into something completely different. So then I added a vibraphone, some synth, that kind of stuff. Put the melody guitar. I want to learn guitar by the way. I mean, it can't be much harder than violin, can it? Anyways, I'm going to use it for the theme of my game (I think.) If you play the melody slow on the violin, it seems like some other song. It's really cool. Maybe I'll include it in the next release of my game.

Hmm, I nailed all the catergories? Cool.

I'm going to see if my game can nail 120 FPS on my little brother's PC. On my laptop, it runs only about 30 to 40. Hmm. Oh well…

Anyways, have a great rest of the weekend everybody! See ya!

Well, here's an edit: If anyone does get this far down, here's the download, and if you don't like the server, you can recommend one to me instead of myself typing screw you.

If you want to change the default resolution, you're going to have to change the settings file manually. It should be an INI file with a different extension. Yeah, fear my awesomeness.

Actually, I'm just lucky to have a great family.

ZOMG how did you manage to make a 3D image of my dick?!

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you added a ton of MP3s to your game.

TS, your sex life is doomed.

See those sharp-pointy bits. Most people don't have those.

I do.

Oh, those are my secondary penises. You know, in case the primary one gets cracked in half.

Err…MP3s and OGGs are going to increase size. Your file is less likely to become corrupted if you store the music files OUTSIDE of the game file.

Lastly, use serprex's method and use MODs…freaking small files. I haven't tried them yet, though. I hope they're like the MP3 format and don't turn my music into piano ensembles like a MIDI conversion.

MODs are basically MIDIs with instrument samples bundled in the file.

Teleka has .oggs, and all ten or so I have so far take up only 3 megs. If I were using .wavs, it would be around 15.

No I only have OGGs for sound effects and MOD files for music (at least in my version.)

TS, That's one hardcore dick.

No, the increased file sizes come not from sounds, but from the models.
