I don't mean to be rude, but is this site dead?
It's a pretty vague question dude.
I need it to be able to do my taxes for me. Please implement.
It seems you people have a problem with me. I asked a simple question. And you guys jump on me like this? I have seen MANY posts on this site that are FAR less relevant. You guys need to seriously chill, If you don't like my post, then go somewhere else!
BTW: flashback lolz2d.
Although AlexCromwellVP is being a bit spam-like, I can definitely see his point. For a game development website there doesn't seem to be much interest in game development. The majority of game dev blogs get one or two comments(Usually off-topic), and posted games get almost none. I guess this is because everyone's working on their own game. Maybe there should be some sort of incentive to comment, like some sort of points system or something.
Hides……@AlexI definitely suggest taking the game elsewhere if you want feedback though, like I said months ago, gamejolt is good for that(Although not for a long term game dev, you get kicked off the front page pretty quickly. Then again news articles get front page, so I guess it works. Something like indieDB might be better for your game though). Its also helpful because the commentators are game players, not game makers which gives a different perspective.Anyway, to comment on your game(So I'm not a hypocrite lol). This game is looking much better than Hospital3D. A few things I would like are: The ability to turn off the grain. I know it might make it creepier, or hide bad textures ect, but for some people(Like me), that much grain gives me a headache. I would also like more of the weird levels from Hospital3D, where the level shifts around you, with tight spaces and blinking light ect. They build up the mood really well. Finally, better sound quality. This is the main thing I remember being annoyed about in your last game, the sounds were terrible quality. I remember you saying something about file size being the problem. If that's the case then make the high quality sounds a separate download or something. Anyway, I enjoyed your last game, goodluck with your current one(I'll be sure to play it once its done :D)Edit: Oh, and also a good name would be cool, your last games name, Hospital3D isn't the greatest :D.Edit2:Also, I'm talking from my point of view here. My first two games got good feedback, but my last two have had almost none. Ok, one of them has a three sentence long review, but that's it. Maybe other people have had better experiences. Just wondering, what's the factor that make you want to review a game? For me, its because of the lack of reviews, but I'm interesting to know(Could be helpful for everyone)spike1, Thank you for your comment… Your comment was the kind of a comment I was hoping to get.
I remember long ago when this site was about posting games and examples. I really don't know what happened, but I have noticed that the majority of the posts have changed from showcasing games to talking about tv shows and things like that. I am not complaining, I just remember different times.Thank you for your comment! :DSo, what happened to Hospital 2d?
L.A.R. : Long ago, the first game was called Hospital 3d because back in the day it was a big deal to have a 3d GM FPS game (At least on YYG) and it was very retro so I called it that because it kinda sounded similar to Wolfenstein 3d. lol After the first game I made a sequel called Hospital 3d : Behavioral Health and then a spin-off that took place in space called Subject 89. Because of copyright restrictions and respect to third party copyright owners, I removed H3d I, H3d 2, and H3d S89 from YYG a while ago.
