Hey guys, the next version of Deathball 2D is now ready to be tested. For this version, I added a new map and a new AI difficulty, as well as tons of other balance changes and bug fixes. I noticed the game isn't nearly as popular as before, but I hope my updates keep you guys playing. Here's the full list of changes:
—————————————————-Note: Saved game data from previous versions is notcompatible with this version, and will not load.—————————————————-GENERAL: - Added a new map called "StormCube"! This map is similar to the "Cube" map, but with enhanced graphics and boost pads. - You can now choose to have the map selected at random. - Increased the global Shot and Volley power for increased overall scoring. - Increased the player's base shot charge rate by 10%. - The "Brutal" AI difficulty has been renamed to "Hard". - Added a new, very strong AI difficulty that will be called "Brutal". This AI is granted unfair advantages that normally cannot be obtained. The purpose of this AI is for veterans to have a greater challenge, and for improving skills to prepare for the future online mode. - Slightly increased the Shot and Volley power of the AI. - Goalkeepers will now react much faster to the ball after it hits a boost pad. - Reduced the enemy AI's tackle cooldown to match the player's base volley gun cooldown. The result is a 20% increased tackle rate for the AI. - The AI difficulty will now be displayed on the in-game HUD for screenshot purposes. - There is now an announcer warning when there are 30 seconds remaining in a match. - There is now visual representation of announcer speech. - Added a countdown when there are 10 seconds left in a match. - If you were charging the ball when you paused the game, the ball will now automatically fire when you resume. This is to prevent exploiting the pause feature to cancel a shot charge. - Added a fog effect to the menus.TALENTS: Recoil Absorption - Reduced healing effect per point from 5 to 4. Harmonic Resonance Gun - Knockback effect increased by 10%. Endurance - Health regeneration bonus reduced from 5% to 2% per point. Recoil Dampener - Now reduces shot interruption duration by 33%, up from 30%. Unstable Energy - Altered the graphic when this ability is active. Supercharge - Reduced effect per point from 10% to 8%. Overpower - Reduced volley power bonus per point from 3% to 2.5%.BUG FIXES: - Fixed a bug where you could not be killed in the enemy goal crease if you had points in the Recoil Absorption talent. - Fixed an exploit where remaining talent points could be reset to 21, but the talent tree wouldn't be reset. - Fixed an issue on some maps where a goal would be scored although the ball did not fully enter the net. - The "ball reset" announcer speech will now properly stop when overtime or a winner is being announced. - The ball charging sound will now properly stop when the game is paused and when the game ends. - Fixed a bug where the "Easy" AI was unable to tackle the player while moving.Enjoy!- Cronotek
