STATION ELATION

Posted by Fabio on April 10, 2017, 9:24 p.m.

hello^-^ it's been ~a month since my last update and (after enduring a week-long PC nightmare [don't ask] >_>) lots has happened! the above gameplay video shows off a recent run of mine and a fun new enemy, along with some other goodies.

the new enemies are called Rhinogres. the Goblins have bolted steel shields to the poor fellas' chests, and, as a result, they have very short tempers. they'll ram you on sight; blink away in time or be squashed! the shields absorb bullets; only critical hits will damage Rhinogres!

training modes are coming soon:) these modes do have scoring systems attached to them, but their purpose is to train your reaction times and hone your skills as an assassin!

if you're interested in the development of ASSASSINATION STATION you can also follow me on twitter, @FLEXMONEYhoney :)

more frequent updates in the near future. thanks y'all.

Neat.

Looking pretty neat. That 'blink' mechanic is the kind of thing that would disorient me terribly.

Yeah, the game is looking great, but blinking definitely needs some kind of visual continuity to keep me from losing track of where I am. A quick pan instead of camera jump, or something, or maybe some effect left in the line that I just blinked, like smoke or something.

hey homies thanks for the feedback. this is something that's come up before, and in the past i played with panning the camera but, because the blink needs to feel fast and responsive, it didn't change much;

ENTER TWISTGOD.

i added a line of smoke that travels from A to B in the dead time between blinking and i think this change helps visually. video phootage coming in the next ~day or two when i've got more thangz to show off

sorta had to crop the video to make the GIF but here's an example of the smoke trail

That's a big improvement for sure. Looks great, too. Well done.
