Mobile chiptune tracker thingy

Most of y'all know what is a tracker. Currently I am working on a mobile app (Android/Windows Phone) that creates chiptune (like Famitracker) using Game Maker: Studio.

Neato.

I just did a ton of research on the differences between trackers and DAWs and what the usefulness of a tracker was and it has been fruitful and enlightening.

Good idea, by the way.

Hella nifty. Think we might get to try anytime soon?

Only question I have is: Are you generating waveforms or just playing pitched samples?

It would be nice if Game Maker: Studio has the functionality for tone generations. Anyways I used pitched waveform samples (so all of the samples combined is no bigger than 20kb). Thankfully I used tons of constants to correctly pitch up the samples.

I am expected to show off a video later on today and once I am done with load/save system I will roll out a beta preview in couple of more days if things goes well. (mostly likely Windows PC (even though the full release only supports phones/tablets) and Android)

I'd like to try try this when you're ~done. I've been thinking about getting into tracking for ages.

Thanks for the support guys! Anyways I uploaded a video and updated my blog post.

Well. I have made further progress and I have ported it on my Nokia Lumia 635 (Windows Phone). Soon I'll be done with saving system. (It's the first time I used complex/multiple data structures in GML)

Sorry for the bump but I got it done. Sorta half assed.

Nice! I'm grabbing it now. I'll report later with anything I've made.
