Okay, what now?

Since I'm finished with my V4D game, I don't know what I should do next.

Surprisingly, I don't want to work on TWE again. At least for a while.

(That shitty TDS that I've been making for the past 2178435694 years)

I've been thinking about creating an entirely new game, or continue working on Fighter Valentine and making it work with Alert Games' AGMAPI.

I was planning on doing something similiar to Dark Souls, where players could join your world and either try to help you, or try to kill you. I already have some decent ideas on how that would work, I think it'd be pretty cool, but I don't know if anyone would even play it.

Is there any type of game that you would like to see made? I'm up for suggestions.

I just want to work on something as fun to make as Fighter Valentine again. It was the first time I've ever made a game that didn't take itself seriously whatsoever, and I'm proud of the results, though I think I could've done better on some parts.

Also, here's some concept art that I started when the V4D comp first begun, but I never finished:

Originally, the kittens in the game were going to be neutral, until you attacked them. Then they would transform into gigantic cat heads and their eyes would shoot laser beams at you.

True story. luls

The guy on the right was originally supposed to be the villian of the game, but he eventually turned out to become Dr. Obesity.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I had originally planned for the player to be able to buy sword in the game, each with their own damage. But due to time constrictions, I had replaced that with explosive cupcakes.

Those are too random to make a good game out of. :p
My thoughts exactly.

Just spend some time on their until it triggers inspiration.

TWE multiplayer alpha testing?

But of course :D

I like the multiplayer co-op idea..

So long as it's not just generic zombie-killing that is. :p

Cool, I'll go dig up the file right now, and give you a link.

Damn… back to the drawing board. D:

But…zombie killing is all the rage!

Seriously though if there's going to be multiplayer co-op I think a campaign or special mission type mode would be good.

I have all that for TWE, but the game itself is just so messy. I mean, the coding is sloppy, I've been working on the damn game since I was 11 and you can tell. To top it off the graphics are so inconsistant, and after working on Fighter Valentine, I dunno if I could deal with such sloppy code again.

I'm honest to god thinking about starting the game from scratch, I have been thinking so a lot lately. I'd just find it so much more easier to start from scratch and I know I'd get much better results than what I have now.

Well if you do something different with the genre, I could live with it….

Finding something original to do with it could be tricky though.

(incidentally, this is why I have written about five zombie/apocalypse stories but no zombie/apocalypse games)

wow, what a coincidence. Turns out, my latest attempt at online multiplayer was actually supposed to be, in fact a generic zombie game. I feel like a terrible person now.

Also, I had to rename it, because the previous title was just stupid.

I dunno if this'll work, but here you go:

So you want to do something, easy, fun, with room for flexibility and creativity?

I'm going to suggest what I always do for people stuck on ideas. Make a platform exploration game or MetroidVania. These kinds of games can be super easy to make; the core gameplay is simple platforming + item augmentation/upgrades if that's where you're headed, and you get to focus mainly on the fun stuff like level design, enemy design, backgrounds, etc.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, play the following games…

For a platform exploration game:

-Sieklus

-Knytt and Knytt Stories

-Ico or Shadow of The Colossus

-An Untitled Story

-Anyone Else's World.

For a MetroidVania:

-Metroid or Castlevania games :P

-Cave Story

-The Power

-Hero: Core.

I'm actually thinking about doing a spiritual successor to "Super Fight!" which is an old game that I made back when I was 11 or 12.

But, instead, it'll play similiar to The Cleaner.

It'll most likely be an open world/exploration game this time. It'll contain destructable environments(probably), some RPG elements where you can upgrade/unlock new skills and whatever else I can think of.

It'll probably be somewhat difficult, but nowhere near as frustrating as my V4D entry, because it'll be much more forgiving.
