Graduation

Posted by JID on June 10, 2012, 3:26 a.m.

I've officially completed highschool now. I'm so extremely relieved that's all done with.

Since that chapter of my life is complete, now, i'm struggling to find out what i want to do next.

I've been thinking about taking some game design courses or whatever during the summer, but I'm not completely sure what I want to do yet. That said, I know that I don't want to go to college right away. I want to find out what I really want to do with my life exactly, so I don't jump the gun on anything.

While I try to figure out what to do, I'm going to try to work extremely hard on a few games over the summer. Hopefully, I'll have some decent ideas for what I want to do next.

I'm really confused and anxious about what I'm going to do now since I've graduated, but I really want to actually do something with myself, and I'll try to focus on what I want out of the next few years.

Going to college is actually a good way of doing that, even if you drop out later to do something else :p

Oh, and congratulations.

Yeah. There's also that.

Usually you'd plan ahead a bit, rather than getting to the graduation stage and saying "what now". But yeah what Cesque said.

Congrats, man. Just don't end up taking a break for too long before hitting college.

Nah, I would never consider dropping out, that would be a waste of money, plus time and effort.

I've really had no time to think about that, especially since what has happened over the course of the last year and a half. From moving, transferring to a new school and a best friend of mine dying, along with a lot of other things that kept me away from thinking about what I'd do after graduation.

You should take an interstate bus to Las Vegas and start a new life on the streets.

College is not a waste of money. You always learn new things in your classes that you pay for, even if it is easy, you learn something.

I recommend going to a college that you think you will have fun in, but at the same time learn new things (and pass your classes).

Also, for games, I'm about ready to release my API beta 3, so that will be good.
