Better than nothing

So, it's been a while - i have nothing really great to show, besides that i have been doing stuff.

Shitty stuff.

Shitty stuff so shit that it's shitty shit.

I'm still working on my game - it hasn't come a long way - yet, just making things feel really polished. Still very much alpha.

What I've been up to:

Dismemberment movement/physics

(Still a wip, have a LOT to do with dismemberment, definitely need a bit more blood and guts, haha)

Dodging mechanics

dodging should be very useful, specifically for sneaking up on enemies and getting the jump on them

Sentry turrets

still very much working on that lighting engine

Gonna add inventory items that allow you to light up dark areas you encounter in the game. Also, the game will rely on crafting and scavenging for supplies.

Also, gave the main character a hat, for no reason whatsoever, expect lots and lots of hats in the future.

With all that, I leave a soundless video of me fondling dead bodies, spawning stuff and blowing up everything until my fps drops massively in glorious 1080p:

With all that said, I'm probably gonna wake up tomorrow and regret showing off so much unfinished work that i wanted to save for a real blog. I'll probably add more to this later, or remove this blog entirely.

I don't know why, but that dodge looks really fucking cool.

Love the way it turned out, tbh. It feels great. tried to make it feel as good as possible while doing it, the dodging is very context-sensitive. while trying to move toward the mouse or backwards, you won't do the fancy spinning when dodging, instead a simple hop.

Overall, i love the mechanic and love jumping around all over shit, like a ninja. :P

Still have some kinks to work out for gameplay when the time comes.

All of this looks sexy and it actually needs to be finished, and if you don't finish this within the next 4 years, I am going to curse you and haunt you on Steam for an eternity.

Looks like you've gotten so much farther than.. two years ago lol

When might we expect something to play, 2014, or 2015? 16? :V

after seeing game of thrones, Ygritte heavily reminded me heavily of her, so i will make 70% of her actions and dialogue in-game consist of, "You Know Nothing, Jon Snow" over and over and over again.

speaking of which, i need to go and fix up that sprite of hers. i don't like the messy hair.

Yeah.. Pretty much a remake or "spiritual successor" if you will.

2014. I plan to make the entire thing episodic to ensure a release, I'm looking at making each episode around 2-3 hours long. From what i have planned out, there will be 5 in all, most likely.

So episode 1 definitely in 2014, at some point.
