As we all know making big D3D models takes ages.
We all know the few hundered lines of d3d code it took to make LADA.
But now there is a 3-d moddeling program "Anim8or" that can make D3d models like in GMax! The best part is, it's free!
With a few plugins you can now export models you made in Anim8or that look awesome! Look at this Flak cannon I made!

Now, If you want to make d3d wit this tool first you need to download Anim8or.
www.anim8or.com then you dowload it [=0]
Next you make a NOTEPAD document in the main folder of anim8or. When you paste in the script
http://tysonc.net/plugins/export_gm6_plugin.a8s and save the document, you'll see where you put in the name of the file.
Put this in: Gamemaker_D3D_extension.a8s
and select all files as the file type.
Next you run anim8or and go to file and then configure. Where it says scripts click the … next to it and go to the file the script is in. Turn off anim8or and then turn it back on. Load or make your model. Don't worry about the debugging screen you get, just minimise it.
When you have finished your model, open the object tab and click export.
When you export the file, select the gameamker D3D.d3d file type, save it and
exit anim8or.
You should have your model.
Open gamemaker and make your object.
If your model consisted of more than 333 polygons, it will be split up into multiple model files. The files will be numbered sequentially. For example, your files may look like this: "car.d3d car0.d3d car1.d3d"
To draw this in Game Maker, use this code.
Create Event:
car = d3d_model_create();
d3d_model_load(car,"car.d3d");
car0 = d3d_model_create();
d3d_model_load(car0,"car0.d3d");
car1 = d3d_model_create();
d3d_model_load(car0,"car1.d3d");
Draw Event:
d3d_model_draw(car,x,y,z,texture);
d3d_model_draw(car0,x,y,z,texture);
d3d_model_draw(car1,x,y,z,texture);
And your model is done!
Double blog. >_>
*bitchslaps*
Soz about the double blog :(
It's not really new. I've had it for over a year.
Oooooo, a Flak Cannon.
Cool that you figured that out…but Anim8or isn't very new. I can tell you about 3D modeling. I use Blender…which isn't much fun after all.
