Google Chrome

The ever expanding enterprise Google has decided to try to conquer the internet in another way. I find this surprising because there are already many different browsers, some even requiring different formatting for websites. Add another one to the list?

Anyway it aims at having a "a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier."

I must say it looks sexy, especially with previews for favorite site and links to your documents. And browser dragable tabs.

Also included, porn mode, aka "Incognito Mode"

I really like Google Chrome, I'm all for simplicity. The comic explaining the concept behind it is also really interesting:

Hang on, isn;t this edmunns blog?

I like this better, it praises chrome.

Chrome is an awesome ball of ideas and concepts and technologies, wrapped up in a not-quite-usable-yet package.

Can't wait for it to be 1.0.

I like Google chrome, I think they're heading in the right direction, but I will stick to Opera until 1.0 is out.

I wish they didn't go for that Fisher-Price "My First Web Browser" look.

Google Chrome is awesome. Love the ability to resize multi-line text boxes.

@ OL: Blue automatically makes you think Fisher-Price? I think it looks fine. At least the X button is only red when you hover over it.

I'm runnning windows 2000 right now, and it doesn't say that it supports it so I'll hve to upgrade before I can try it.

Looks nice, but I only really care about mouse guestures, other features, compatibility, and ram usage.

@ Player: Chrome's main selling point is it's RAM usage. I do not believe it has mouse gestures. I don't know if it'll run on 2000, as I run XP. And it has "other features"… I guess… o_O

I downloaded it last night and afterward used it for the rest of the night, I noticed a slight increase in download speed, which shocked me more than anything because I didn't believe a browser could speed up dial-up, but apparently it didn't last, as it returned to the slow 2kbps download speed I normally get.

Its design is simplistic, while simplistic is nice, I feel more comfortable using FireFox, but I believe if I would continue to use Chrome more often I'd like it better now, like I did when I made the switch from Internet Explorer to FireFox. I'm not using Chrome now, partially due to the fact that FireFox opens cached pages faster than Chrome does.
