Feeling Retro

So I've been on a ROM downloading spree. Have close to 350 games downloaded. Right now I've got NES, SNES, Genesis/Megadrive, Neo Geo, and GBA ROMS. Mostly NES and SNES though. The reason behind my recent ROM addiction is this little beauty:

The Dingoo a320. It's more or less a portable emulation device, much like the GP2xWiz or Pandora. It's got built in emulators for all the ROMS I listed above, plus a couple extras. It's got 4GB of built in harddrive space, plus a miniSD slot. It doubles as an mp3, and video player too. It's a nice little chunk of electronic goodness, and it'll be in my hands tomorrow :3

Bought a kingston microSD with mini and standard SD adapters for $15 bucks, as well as a carrying case for my a320 for another $10. The SD card is so I can dual-boot Dingux (the Dingoo implementation of linux) onto my a320 and get all the best emulators so that I don't have to worry about the glitches in some of the rather shitty factory loaded emulators. For $99 dollar device, I expect for this to be one of the best benjamins I've ever spent :D

I've always wanted one of those. Jealous.

Pretty.

For $99 I got a DS and an R4, but these handhelds are still an interesting bit of kit. I bloody wish they'd released the Pandora half a decade ago though.

@Ferret,

You oughtta get one. As far as I can tell, it's a stable little bugger. Worth the money in my opinion.

@Juju,

Very :3

@Toast,

The actual price of one of these is around $80, I believe. Mine was a little overpriced because I got it from thinkgeek.I wanted to order from a US based company. Places like dealextreme, where you can also get it, take weeks to get it shipped.

You are aware that GBA games and GBA-playing DSs are still readily available?

I understand using it for the others though.

@Cyrus,

You found your psp in a park…? O.o

@FCYW,

Yes, I do :p But, it's pretty cool to have everything in one handheld. No cartridges necessary.
