Things that exist:

[*]Three stages
[*]Six shottypes
[*]High score keeping
[*]Attack perfection record keeping
[*]Continues
[*]Sound test
[*]Configurations menu
[*]TURBO MODE

I've gone and started on a re-doing of this nasty ol' thing to make it less horribly unbalanced and unfair and dumb-looking and all that good stuff.

Rest assured that I've taken great pains to make sure that this version is not horribly unbalanced and unfair and dumb-looking.

Also, there is a sequel to this game, but it's only better looking than the original version of Lunacy Star 1. I don't intend to re-make that, however.

If you do try it, be sure to share with me your thoughts on the players and patterns and music and junk! Or if you wanna just post a highscore, that's cool too :3

Mine on Lunatic is 204,213,400.

Thanks for checking stuff out!

needs more particles.

EDIT: okay played the game this time. Keep in mind i'm not a fan of bullet hell's or scrolling shooters.

Some of the sound effects are really annoying and often too loud. The music is okay although can be a little soft for the fast paced action taking place, also most of the level bgm can't be heard well due to the loud sounds.

As for the game play, well it's a bullet hell. plays like any other i've ever seen. The game is in desperate need of some backgrounds though. The bosses also take an unreasonable amount of time to kill. often i can get through a whole level without dying and than die on the boss, which seems to have numerous life bars.

Sprites could also be a little better. the menu and graphics on the side of the screen give me the idea this isn't supposed to be retro, but the sprites tell me other wise.

Well that's all i got. didn't play for long. Beat the first 2 stages and than quit. These aren't my types of games so don't take what i said too seriously, i don't know what i'm talking about when it comes to these games. Although one think i can be sure of, i know effort when i see it and this game (minus the lack of resources) has a good sense of quality. i'm sure shooter fans will enjoy it once it's finished.

Very fun, very smooth gameplay. Things feel far more balanced than LS2 (the difference between the two game modes is enormous), but the bombs in this still hit way too hard. You can bomb at the beginning and most of the bombs will kill the boss and then persist for a lot longer than necessary. Also, the game likes to crash now and again (I've already informed you of where). I agree with death about sound effects being a bit loud, particularly the player shot.

And death, these games are usually focused around bosses having a lot of patterns, and bosses can compose anywhere between 50% and 75% of your normal play time. Stages are the appetizer. Bosses are the main course.

ahh i see, well boss fights usually are the funner parts of most games, still, i wish developers wouldn't drop normal enemies and stages from their line of focus, there's still a lot you can do with regular enemies and levels.

Thanks for checking it out, death.

Yeah I admit that the game really is tailored to the niche of "people who play bullet hells" lol, I'm sorry. I've implemented a number of quirks to try to make it as non-shmupper friendly as possible (such as infinite continues and a really simple resource collection system), but it's just a small step.

The stages in the beginning of the game, also, are really short and feature simpler patterns that what would be seen in later stages. What I've offered is but a small sampling of what the game will have to offer at completion :D
