This is now cancelled. Due to the harddrive failure, the files got corrupted, including the backup files I tried to copy over from it (I could still access it, but am unable to boot from it), so onto another project with me…
I'll basically be working on its sequel next, World of Chaos 2: Kenta's Journey. The one involving Kentarou and his journey across the world, 3 years after the events of the first game. I'll make it so you won't have to have played the first one to get the story of the second one, by including details of course, but the first one will now come at a later time, since I pretty much have to start from scratch.
Looked like a great game. I admire your persistence.
Was this made in GM ? And is an executable available ? (It is possible to go backwards)
I am really sorry this happened, there's really nothing worse…Backup, dropbox is a good choice. If it's not in GM, I highly recommend learning version control such as git. (GM can work with git and I'm using it for S4D, but everything about git assumes a folder full of resources in their own files, VS GM's one-file-to-rule-them-all.)Actually I keep online backups of my stuff on Box.com, but the problem is, keeping this up to date was the last thing on my mind, so I brought this on myself unfortunately. The last backup was back in August, which was so long ago and so old, that I'd be better off just starting from scratch. But I'm going to learn from my mistakes this time, and update the backup whenever I make progress.
Just use dropbox, and develop in the folder, as Cyrus suggested. You will be able to develop from any computer that way. (Though you should still backup, the need will be less because it will be on their servers + your computer)
DSG Syndrome must be in season.
