The Answer To Life, The Universe, And Everything.

Posted by White Gandhi on Aug. 18, 2008, 11:52 a.m.

NOTE: This is not me proclaiming that there is purpose to the universe. Im not trying to force a reason to be into my head to make me feel safe. Im not trying to put anything in anyone elses head, either. Sure I missed some logic in here, such as existance in non-existance but Im no philospher claiming king. In my mind, I have got 30 GOOD years to live still, out of eternity in which I can be human. 30 out of forever. note postscript: I normally dont think this deep either, Im not one of those people who ponder life all day and think deep about everything xD I take life as it comes and live on the edges.

Unfortunately my answer isn't as simple as fourty two. I don't sit here typing bare handed though! I was reading "The Last Three Minutes"; A book which goes over possible scenarios and phsyical laws that could lead to Armageddon. I was thrity pages in and had to post a blog asap (Which I haven't done in a long time, so I apologize for the shitty quality, if it shows). Now, I do not fear, and never have feared death. Infinity (And spiders) are another story. Thinking about eternity makes me cringe, and mixed with the face of death, worsened it by a degree or two. I've just come to realize something, and that is what I believe the answer to be…

Just for the sake of it, let's assume there is no religious influences and all is good with the world (Meaning there is no hell, heaven, reincarnation, or any form of afterlife, as this post is coming from an atheist/agnostic person). The odds against infinity. Wow. You and I were lucky enough to expereince Life. It's a miracle we're here at all, instead of being left in non-existence for eternity. We get our several decades to show what we're worth, even if in the end it doesnt really matter. Everything that comes to exist, goes to cease. Grasp the opportunity of Life and accelerate. You only get one shot in a lifetime to live the next second, to decide the next minute, next hour, day, week, month, year. One shot at this life. One shot at now. However, all that goes up must come down; Perhaps you won't get a shot to live the next minutes, hours, days, or months (and you definately won't get a shot to relive the past). Do everything you want to while you can, while you live. Don't let Tomorrow slip by. I mean to say, dont sit on your ass saying "Tomorrow I will." Grasp it today and get moving.

I suppose my answer to life, the universe and everything is a bit different from Douglas Adams (However logical his answer may be :P). Mine is "opportunity".

Or you know, [[/b]quote] to say [quote]

Spellcheck is for weenies

Meaning is something we create to try convince ourselves that we are more than some result of a long series of random events

And the universe is only around 15 billion years old. That is around 0% of eternity

And you implied that we existed in nonexistence. Conservation of Mass implies that all that makes you has existed since the beginning of the universe. It has simply come to fall into structure. Eventually the cycles of mass will slow and structure will fall. A cell's purpose is not what it does for itself, but what it does for what it makes. You are a cell in the body of humanity

And blah blah blah C: I missed some logic.

I just found a little fun in this, not trying to actually say this is "The answer to everything" (The title just came to mind because Douglas Adams is my favorite). If you read the previous comments Im just saying I realized somethings for my self. And you're right. Im not trying to say that we were made for a reason (Nor am I trying to fool myself into one), but we should make reasons for ourselves to give us something to do with what little time we do have. Im not going to sit here while my life goes to waste, I only have 30 or 40 great years left out of forever. Im going to live them to the max =]

"Carpe diem"

which sums it up quite nicely. ;)

You should just be satisfied that I made life in the first place, alright? Stop questioning my intentions.
