|bd| Wild Horses

Posted by bendodge on April 16, 2007, 1:26 p.m.

Here are the pictures of the wild horses from my hike (see previous blog). I didn't take them, so I can't vouch for the quality.

Note that one of the horses in the last picture has a brand. I don't know why; maybe it escaped from a ranch.

Anyway, I …

|bd| Big Hike, Search and Rescue

Posted by bendodge on April 15, 2007, 12:50 a.m.

About this time of year every year, my friend Jim Doolittle gets an itch to go hiking. So he spent weeks planning a "Big Hike", and got about 25-30 other friends to go along.

The plan was to rendezvous at the Gardner's house at about noon, take a couple vans …

|bd| More Moving

Posted by bendodge on April 4, 2007, 10:51 a.m.

Soon I will be going back to help the friends I mentioned in my last blog move more stuff in to their new house, only this time it is the big stuff, which I don't exactly relish.

I'm experimenting with some blog tweeks. I updated the banner with a picture …

|bd| Back to School

Alas, spring break is over. No more freedom, no more fresh air, no more good times…

Actually, my "break" was hard work. My mother decided that we would use this opportunity to do house projects, and we did so with gusto (or at least she had gusto).

We rotated out …

|bd| A return to GM

Posted by bendodge on March 7, 2007, 8:06 p.m.

Hello again,

I'm back in the GM arena, after being out for several weeks with our family's new baby (PM for details). I've also been busy moderating the karma system (which got rather despotic a while back), and helping pythonpoole with Secret Project 3.

I am also very pleased with …

Well, Katharina came home last night, and she is doing much better than she was at the hospital. She has all her tubes out, and is only taking 1 antibiotic. She is still very weak, but she is home for Christmas.

A few days ago some volunteers at the hospital …

No, not me, my 5 year old sister.

Saturday and Sunday my little sister Katie (nicknamed Bug) wasn't feeling well, and on Monday she was feeling terrible and said her side hurt. So my mom and dad were looking in our Merk's Manual, but they didn't find anything so they …

|bd| More GM limitations!

Posted by bendodge on Dec. 13, 2006, 5:29 p.m.

For all the good things about GM, it still has a few bad things that really make me upset.

Today's item is the lack of error handling. The only thing GM has in the way of error treatment is the ability to show en error, check to if an error …

Tarnish and Relief

Posted by bendodge on Dec. 9, 2006, 2:13 p.m.

I want to clean up my tarnished reputation from my last blog: No, I do not visit the GMC during school. My dad is a teacher, and so I am at school for a few hours after it lets out. That is when I do most of my programming.

The GMC - Blocked!

Posted by bendodge on Dec. 8, 2006, 4:52 p.m.

The GMC has been blocked on my school filter. Does anyone know how to set up a proxy? I have really good hosting, so I think I can do it. (But correct me if I'm wrong, as I know nothing about proxies.)

I bet that if I require a login, …
