Well, with RL and stuff getting in the way, it took awhile… but the new release of Legacy of Gib is finally done. I'd like to welcome our new staff members on the development team: Kidfried, Peasantman3, and Bootguy29. Over this short month break of little update, I've been re-coding a crapload of the stuff in the game to make the engine more efficient/flexible to work with. Now, it's done for the most part, and we can go full steam ahead on ADDING things rather than FIXING them. Features new in this release (that I can remember…):
Improved weapons system/weapon HUD -number key weapon switching (1-9) -mousewheel weapon scrolling -Q quickswitch (like in CS)Improved player physics/interaction with environment. Less getting stuck on crouch/jump/prone/swim etc.Improved effects such as blood, brass, particles etc. Less lag/more efficient.Activation/Deactivation of instances - the game now runs larger levels more smoothly by deactivating items not in use.An elevator, complete with crushing action should the player not be paying attention.New enemies (well, old, but they appear in level 2 now) -MG turret -cannon turretAutoblocks - faster level design/less instancesHeadgear system -lol cap -pantiesBackpack system -lol packNew weapons: -Quad Barreled Shotgun (4B) -FN-P90 -Combat Knife -Smoke GrenadesImproved enemies and Patrolman AI. -Patrolman headshots improved. -Patrolman can be shanked if not alert by stabbing weapons. There's probably more changes since last release that I just haven't remembered, but anyway… it almost seems like a different game now. =pEnjoyLegacy of Gib - Mar. 15 update (New Release)
