Active again.

After almost a year in limbo, we've decided to become publicly active with Legacy of Gib again. It's kind of silly that it's been that way for so long, but anyway…

We've done a lot in the way of Legacy of Gib since March, and Oatmeal57's even went and established a file mirror at FileFront so we can start putting up more beta builds and videos. http://hosted.filefront.com/LegacyofGib

Most of the basic engine of the game is pretty much done, so we can start doing actual enemies and levels… having cool guns is neat, but it's far more important to present a challenge to the player and a reason to continue on, a goal to complete (other than just getting 'score').

Levels for the test builds so far have generally been fairly simple little rooms with a handful of the latest enemies and weapons to kill them with. The only actual level we have in the game right now is VR_Training, which is the obligatory FPS newbie tutorial level.

Besides adjusting the difficulty through platform jumps and enemies vs. weapons/ammunition, we'll actually implement various traps and puzzles, generally involving incredibly dangerous machinery that you can kill yourself in all sorts of creative ways. If it looks like it can kill you, it probably can - doors will crush you if you stand under them and they close; spikes on poles hanging from the ceiling are a good indication of a crusher. Sure, the goal of the game is to get through the level alive, but half of the fun in a game can come from dying in hilarious ways :p

As far as GM goes we only really work on this one game.. so we weren't very well-known.
