Almost anyone into independent (freeware inclusive) games would have almost definitely come across and been delighted by Cave Story. If you have not tried it yet, you do not need me to tell you to.
Its developer, pixel, is indeed a one-man army. The game was exceptional, and now is on its way to a PSP port. There is no doubt a very huge following of Doukutsu Monogatari fans. Me too! =)Naturally, there has been a lot of Cave Story fanart. That's a great thing; I enjoy seeing fanart because apart from signifying a game's popularity, it also expresses the artist's interpretation of that game (characters, setting, or themes, depending on what was drawn of course). It really is encouraging, both for the developer and fans alike.Considering that, it's surprisingly delightful to come across fanart done by a really talented artist (from http://www.sec.or.tv/):Picture of QuotePicture of CurlyDidn't expect Curly to be that hot, huh?I can't be sure who the artist is exactly, if someone who knows more than I do in Japanese could tell me it would be great. All I do know is that he has released several awesome artbooks, and I have seen his work being featured in quite a few places.. . . .(Also at PondSpark)
So the PSP thing is true?
Awesome! :) Now how to get a PSP…*wont say it, I wont say it, I wont say it*
Ah crap.Rule 34 of Cave Story, it exists. If you don't know what rule 34 is, you are better off that way.Radiohead are Cave Story fans.
So actually owning one is worthwhile? Hooray!
