What resolution does you have, and what resolution does your friend have? It might be that your resolution fits the game-resolution, while your friends resolution does not.
The game's resolution is 128x96.
Me and my friend have 1366x768.I have a graphics card.He does not. (integrated)Plopping stuff on a surface is the way to go. It's really not too hard.
