Not all teenagers masturbate. 100 years ago it probably rarely happened, because teenagers weren't educated that explicitly. These days, lots of teenagers masturbate but not all of them.

Think of a person born with tourette syndrome. They will swear uncontrollably - sinning just like Masturbating is sinning. They can't help it, but it's still a sin. The problem is, this world is corrupt and nobody's perfect - everyone sins. Masturbating is just one of the many sins that we cannot control. Lustful thoughts? It's a sin, but we can't control it. Actually, Lustful thoughts is a factor of Masturbating, and thus, if Masturbating isn't a sin, the Lustful thoughts included with it is.

I disagree with a lot of Catholic moral ways, but I do agree with their wanking one. I'm not sure of Protestants think the same way.

Oh let me add, about that "erotic sexual denial" page. Whether that's true or not, something such as Abortion may be healthy for women too, like, if they mistakedly fell pregnant. But that doesn't make it a morally good thing to do. I'd rather be right with God than cancer-free.

Masturbation doesn't kill anyone or hurt anyone's virginity. We are humans (a type of animal!) just like every other animal we need sex but since we can't go have sex with someone on the street like dogs do, masturbation is the option left apart from raping someone and destroying there virginity.

Okay, let me break this down for you as scientific/medicaly as possible.

Wet dreams are, like you said, natural. Do you know why they are natural? They naturally occur so that you CAN NOT DESTROY YOURSELF. There are hundreds of millions of catholics (as well as other religions) who honestly do not masturbate. You basicaly have a tube from your testicles, to your prostate, and blah blah blah. Have you ever tried pouring water through a tube, and putting a piece of paper or something in one end to block the water from escaping? What will happen? The pressure will build, and the paper will pop out, releasing the pressure. Your semen won't leak into your blood stream, reach your brain, and kill you. It will not damage any organ, muscle, bone, etc. And then, of course, your body isn't retarded. If you don't release, then your testosterone will build up to it's peak level (which, btw, literally gives you a larger penis. The first time you whip it out in front of a girl, she'll be like "OMG! *dies*". Actually, she won't, as it's usually only half an inchish, and girls honestly don't even notice penis size, unless it's excesivly large/small) and then your body will realize "hey, I have a lot of this stuff in here, and it's not going away. Maybe I'll just produce less of it, until he gets it goin' again".Masturbation is not done for health reasons, but because of the pleasure chemicals, of which I could write a whole new comment on, but I won't.

You're either going to have to back your first argument up with some proof, explain your point better, or accept that you dont know what you're talking about.

As has already been pointed out, cancer sort of kind of almost has existed for a very long time. Anyway, you do realize that the article that you based your second point on is about ESD, right? Read up a little more on what ESD fully is, and you'll find it isn't the same as not masturbating. I believe this is what you were refering to for your point:

Refer back to what I said about how your body naturally clears you out to prevent damage. If you read up some more on what ESD is, you'll figure out why it's considered "dangerous".

Also, don't use wiki, especially one on ESD, to prove points about damage to the body. My first glance through this shows you didn't use ANY informaiton from a gynecologist (assuming one didn't edit the wiki, and that information not get edited again). Honestly, next time you go into a hospital, ask to see a gynecologist, and ask him if not masturbating is likely to actually harm your body. He'll slap you for taking the time out his busy schedule to ask such a retarded question, but I know enough about anatomy, and heard enough stuff from gynecologists (not while directly studying this subject though, mind you) that I know your heatlhy body can't let itself get hurt by this. I mean, if you've got an infection directly in your semen or something, your doctor will likely sugest you masturbate, but how do bad things get introduced into your semen? They can't. Your body produces it, has it sit in…I forget what the organ is called that it's stored in, but it's stored somewhere right-close to the prostate, then it comes out roughly every 10-16 days, and that is that.

So your second argument is pretty much your first argument, just based on a skewed perception of ESD.

Thirdly, there is no religion out there that I know of (but certainly not catholic) that discourages masturbation because it's selfish. Therefore, your third argument is not pertaining to the initial thesis, which was to point out how the catholic rule against masturbation does not "match the current times".

Those people getting divorced because of a dysfuntion FROM BIRTH, and you thinking his only reason for them getting divorced is because of that, is quite messed up. Firstly, if that was truely the only reason they got divorced, then the woman was out to sabatoge it from the begining. You'll have to do quite a bit of research into psychology, addiction, couples psychology, etc, to understand it all, but it's quite clear that that is either not the reason she divorced him, or else she was conciously, or non-concously, attempting to mess up their relationship, for whatever reasons she has.

NOW, on the other foot (foot, as in it's not quite on the other HAND, but it's close, so it's a foot. Damn I'm clever) how many people have told you they have a sexualy transmitted disease? How many people have them, but don't even know? How do you get an STD? Through sex. What do you do when you contract aids, then try find a wife? Or even someone to have sex with you? Of course, if you hadn't had sex, you never would have contracted something like HPV, which you pass on to your wife, and give her CERVICAL CANCER.

Now then, reasons not to masturbate:

It becomes an addiction. Addiction is defined by the consequences of the action - that is, if you continue to do it despite all the consequences piling up, it means your brain has been rewired in the wrong way. (Again, you'll need psychology to understand this fully) Chronic masturbation is a common way to ruin relationships with your signifigant other and to lose a lot of time. To you, it's probably a "wtf, no, that barely even makes sense", but it's true. Look at amphetamines. Amphetamines keep you up, make you go faster, make you think faster, variations of it, such as methylenedioxymethamphetamine will make you happier, and all that good stuff. So why is it so bad? (Aside from the self destructive part)

The main reason that the government itself has had to set up compulsive sex centers, is because people - particularly men, generally feel they need to be overwhelmed with sexual stimulation to "get off", but as time goes by, you know, naturally they have to have more and more, harder and harder stuff. Obviously just getting into the mentality that something is normal because you've seen it SO MANY TIMES (and by this time you probably don't have much INTIMATE human interaction, because of the porn, which can be explained through the psychology of not just shame and shit, but because the disease (addiction is refered to as a disease by most therapists, rather than a "condition" or something) is in your mind, and it won't let you think rationaly or logicaly) that you will actually go and act out on the stuff you've become so used to.

Obviously the number of people who will act out like this are very low, and often trauma survivors to boot, but it is a VERY bad problem. One of the most popular and accessable examples of this to the general public, would be one of those shows (like on 20/20) where they go into a chat room, pretending to be an underage child, and would attract pretators in, where they would be arrested and what-not. If you watch these things, they just come like crazy. In one of these shows I saw, they had arrested over 30 men IN ONE DAY, all under the impression they would be having sex with a 9 year old boy while his parents weren't home. (Most of them had brought condoms, alcohol, even drugs and rope, so it's pretty hard to deny what they intended to do)

So, you can have sexual compulsion, and you can have crack. I don't have time to go into everything bad about SC, how it comes about, etc, but it generaly starts with some sort of abuse (and you may be surprised by how "loose" the term abused is) or trauma as a child, and is then fueled by pornography, and then the masturbation imprints it all in your brain. (serotonin releases result in highs, and your memory is basicaly imprints of moments near where you were really up, or really down)

And then of course, as a sexually compulsive person, it's not just yourself you can potentialy hurt, but there's yourself too. Obviously having sex with many many people, experimenting with your own limits, getting arested for child porn…

Now obviously masturbation doesn't equal sexual compulsivness, but it is generally what leads people to it. I described some pretty severe results of SC, but there are much lesser consequences that are quite horrlbe too. And don't think of this as "well, it's just a few fucked up people", there hundreds upon hundreds of millions of people with this disorder. There are more "sex adicts" than there are pot addicts.

Wow, I think this comment is longer than your blog. I've spent too much time on this, and you're not going to listen to the "lesser" reasons against masturbation, much like you've likely blown off the whole SC, STD, pregnancy, and every other reason against masturbation/sex.

Just as a side-note, Catholics (and most other religions who discourage this) don't allow masturbation, (before people were even able to make the connection between all that bad stuff and masturbation, porn, sexual abuse, etc) because it is considered a form of cheating on a spouse, which no matter what your religion, is considered a bad thing for the relationship, unless, again, you're sexually compulsive and either cheat on her, or even worse, start engaging in threesomes, being a swinger couple, etc. There is no way for a _serious_ relationship to survive that, and I am serious. If you don't care about the relationship, and you're all just in it for the sex, wtf, have fun, if not, do just a tiny bit of research on what psychologists and relationship specialists say about it. No matter how wiling, communicative, or understanding you two are, it'll fall apart.

Back on topic, in order to masturbate, males generally need visual stimulation to keep going (which is unlike most girls, but that's beside the point), and even just thinking of a woman in that way, is (as far as god AND psychology cares) like having sex with her.

ANYWAY, there is no reason to masturbate, in much the same way there's no reason to use ecstasy. You do it for self-gratification (and on webcam for random pedophiles on the internet), and much like the people who don't use ecstasy want to keep their body from DYING, God doesn't want our minds to get fucked over, as social science is quickly proving it does.
