Catholic and Masturbation

*I only intend to show a flaw in the religion. If you feel you do not like to hear about flaws in the religion please do not read it (you have a right not to). After some events with a person on MSN who didn't masturbate due personal and religious reasons I read up on the catholic and masturbation. It seems that the catholic religion indeed says it’s wrong to masturbate (http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/2964/masturbation2.html). However I feel that statement does not match the current time or the people.

Teenagers going through puberty have the wet dreams (but some many not have a single one at all and still be perfectly ok). Some may get these wet dreams until they die but most of the time they stop at around 17-18. This is because the body starts to control itself and stop producing sperm. Even though most religious people may consider masturbation as a *bad* act. However it seems that not masturbating is a bad act because it could lead to one destroying himself. I do not believe any religion says that a person should knowingly destroy them self’s.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erotic_sexual_denial (under Long term denial) it seems modern science has proven that it is a good act and gives protection to things such as prostate cancer. I believe cancer did not exist at the time the rules of the catholic religion was made. (God has given us a brain to think use it! Don’t let God tell you what is wrong and right)

If the argument is pleasuring yourself is selfish look through your past. You could have given that tasty food plate to a hungry beggar. You could have given all your money to poor people and become a beggar but what will happen to your children? In this modern world things don't come for free. We save money for a reason. And just like that people masturbate for a reason(s) such as pleasure and protection from cancer and other prostate related problems. People like to eat testy food because it feels good to eat tasty food and people masturbate because it feels good and protects there body.

Some rules of the catholic religion is far out of date in my point of view. I know a family that got divorced because the guy couldn't have sex (a sexual dysfunction from birth), the guy didn't know it until he attempted it. If he wasn't so religious and checked if he can do it he could have explained to the girl that he can't do it and she probably wouldn't have married him. At the end the girl lost her virginity and had trouble finding another man because of our countries cultural issues.

I do believe no religion would say it’s correct to destroy a girls dream to have kids. We live to full fill our desires actually that’s all we do in life. If there was no desire in a person he would have to die.

I remember that somewhere in the bible it Jesus said to a guy "give all your belongings to the people and join me" even though it was said, no one with the right mind could do that today because there aren’t many jungles or free food to eat. If a guy gave up everything he had and joined the church he would be living off the donations and the money of other people. While he may say god gives me food to eat it is you who many be donating and feeding him. The Fathers enjoy life because they have everything they want because other people are giving the church money and all he has to do is conduct the masses -> helping some people learn religion -> eating -> sleeping. But he is a person that can use his arms and legs to earn and give money to others. Come to think of it being a father is way too much fun lol.

I'm sure all kids find them self masturbating at some point in life because its an instinct to masturbate. You only say that because you can never confirm anything, you can't prove people don't masturbate automatically because they will never tell they started it automatically. Basically when you become a father you might find your son masturbating. Normally children don't need to be thought how to masturbate (that would be a crime) if their re-productivity system is working correctly instinct will guide them. I lied to you so it wouldn't be a surprise if others too lied about a personal thing. Btw, blocking me on MSN just because I lied about a personal subject isn't a big reason at all LOL.

For your information Rhys, my mom or dad didn't know I was masturbating until a doctor asked me if I masturbate (trust me it wasn't the best day of my life to tell my life long secret). Dad wasn't even surprised lol and I couldn't help overhearing him saying "No one thought me how to do it" (which explains why he never came to my room without making noise). I'm such a bad boy XD

Because you don't know that it is caused by a "gas" (well actually something else, I don't know the right english word for it (damp right?) ) that turns into a liquid. Which make the water fall down.

So yeah, if god doesn't exists, masturbation isn't a sin. Hurrah!

I never said I don't masturbate. I do, but I know it's a sin and am trying to stop. We just happened to fall into the topic of masturbation today at school and people were talking about a "two week challenge" where you go two weeks without masturbation. They were like "don't do it man you go insane", while I've gone 2 months without wanking quite easily. I know people at school, as I've said, who have never wanked, and are older than me. Some people just don't do it! Just like some people have a problem with swearing, others have 'problems' with masturbation (though I understand most of you don't think it's a problem).

Whether the prostate cancer was a true fact or whether it was a geek who enters crap into Wikipedia - it's besides the point (when it comes to religion). What about Christians in countries that execute those who aren't, say, Muslims? It is 'obviously' against God to not follow Christian morals and have a relationship in God, yet having one ain't too pretty for worldly issues either. I heard a story about this Church preacher who used to pay money to prostitutes every weekend - not to shag them, but to buy them dinner and talk to them about the word of God. Everyone started thinking he was really sexually immoral, and he was murdered. THEN they realized what he was really doing. Many Protitutes attended his funeral and got their life off the streets. Doing the morally right thing is always a good move, but that doesn't mean there aren't SOME disadvantages. Just less disadvantages than doing the immoral thing.

OMG how many gods are there in this world? and why doesn't every god say the samething? Why would people need different types and makes and shapes of gods? Simple answer: Because they want the religion be they way THEY want. For example the penthecostal religion thinks its ok to make other people convert their religion (they come and say come to our religion we will give you this and that), they also say that you need shout lould for god to hear you but I do belive catholism and jesus related religion says to pray from the heart. Do earth quakes happen when gods have fights? OMG (I ment Oh My Dog! oh it God and Dog have something in commen!) XD

If you catholics hate this masturbation so much why not just cut off your genetals so you can say I don't masturbate! Humans and animals found out about masturbation before humans created these religions. We produce semen everyday for a reason! we can have sex everyday (or even three times a day) but the problem is unlike the old days when we used to just find a female and have sex we can't do it now. Thats why we need a alternative outlet such as masturbation. We humans do need pleaure on a daily basis because of the tention and presure we under go in day to day activities. Although in the old days people didn't have much to do and they didn't have many chalanging activities!

Dude Rhys! I trust me. You can't STOP it. Did you know that wet dreams can be caused by rubbing of the penis on cloths? OMG tie yourself to the bed so you can move OMG! in my mind by wearing and sleeping in ways that will make your penis rub is a sin as well as it is intentionally asking for a orgasm in sleep (a wet dream).

I sure not even pope can go without masturbation. Oh wait! he is a old f*ck and his reproductivity is probebly dead. Does anyone know if he has the genetals? or is a girl like man? who knows XD.

Remember, nothing can change natures instinct. If you say God created humans god programmed with the instinct to masturbate which is why we do it today! (otherwise it wouldn't have been found lol).

Anyway, you don't need to be a biologist to understand something. You've been with many girls - but what! I don't know much about you, and therefore you haven't been with anyone. For all I know, with my non-biologist-career, you don't even haev a penis. You say you're a guy, which makes me say you haev one, but, you know, I have no understanding of this stuff, so therefore you don't have one.

And when did I ever use "the bible says so" as a reason?

It _is_ an addiction. I defined what an addiction is many times. Read my comments, before you comment on what I have written. And addiction is not considered a sin, unless it becomes more important to you than god. And are you one of those people who really thinks nicotine is addictive?! :o

So if all the experts are teling you nicotine is addictive, and that tobaco will kill you, and you've seen hundreds of people addicted to it yourself, spending thousands of dollars on cigarettes, it still means jack shit if you say it, because you're not a biologist. Just look at how you consider cigs to be addictive, and look at it the same as masturbation. I won't even go into what they both do chemicaly.

And…The rest of this is bullshit and retarded, so I'm not going to continue trying to talk. You people just ignore research anyway, based on ideas that you and your PEERS have deduced ON YOUR OWN. A lot of you go on about how religious people shouldn't take what they're taught at face value, and how they should learn about the world, and blah blah blah, but c'mon. It's normal to masturbate, just like it's normal to believe in a higher power to "make yourself feel better". So quit bitching about Christians, until you can at least try and educate yourself about sex and masturbation from something other than your peers and "the media".

addiction masturbation will give you nothing but only a small pain when you over do it. (The body refuses to do it). So there is no way to keep over doing it. Not a single religon should try to control something that is already controlled. No wonder many people live a misarable life because they don't have plesure everyday. Tell me one thing that gives noticeable pleaure to the mind other than sleep? Thats masturbation. Nothing on this earth can replace it. And since it feels so good people think feeling good is a sin. Thats not correct we do many things to feel good.
