-DSG- Depths intro screen.

Posted by DSG on Aug. 19, 2012, 11:59 a.m.

So, I've made an intro screen, and here's a first look at the beginning of the game, the first landing site in the Maibuu Rainlands. I was wondering what you guys thought of the more cave-like approach to design for this area?? Also, as for those crystals, do you like the orange? because it also looks awesome purple… but I feel something is missing… ideas?

Imagine the angry sponsors when DSG loses his data again.

You could get a good microphone for $100.

Every time DSG posts I get this surge to design games.

I wonder what leads to it fizzing out?

Eh. Doesn't matter, had surge.

A good recording space, however, can be considerably more.

And a good recording interface/recorder.

And good voice actors.

Ahh, you guys are awesome, you really are. This community and your kind comments keep me motivated more than anything. I'm excited to finish this game and share it with the world, starting here, on 64 Digits.

And I will do a tile demo ^^ since somebody asked. As for live streaming, that would be interesting hahaha.

just an idea.. you should share some of the techniques you use to make art on youtube. can't remember if you've done this before, but i learn a lot through video tutorials. i bet they'd be immensely helpful/well received by the members here, as well as game makers and artists in general. :)

You should do what hel, said.

Buuuuut.

Make it a special incentive for people to buuuuuy:

Depths:Developer Edition

Featuring:

-The Old demos that where lost to time

-Forgotten soundtracks

-A version of the game featuring Modern Warfare Mountain Dew Guy.

-Videos detailing how the hell you made this game

-Videos detailing how many times you lost the source

-A Picture of your face

(Oh yeah, and the actual game itself.)

Can't say I've followed your posts as of late, but seriously. This game is looking amazing.

What have you done with the old(er) 3D version? The one you had to re-code, rather?

As for the crystals, there's always finding a way to make them change around here and there, perhaps depending on movement or whatever, have them blend from one color to another? I dunno.
