Slick layout. As with everything you do.
The only suggestion I can make it don't display text like news in the center of a page, align it to the left. Also, you should add more depth to your news, like a bold title, then regular description. It will just make it look better.
Yeah, I agree with Biggmax. The current news takes a lot of potential attractivness away.
