Free money!

So my mom was at my grandma's down at the coast last week, supposedly to have some 'time to herself' (Mad at my dad for whatever reason) and when she returned, grandma sent along a check for 500 smackers for moi. Not a lot for everybody who actually lives out in the real world, but for a 15 year old…

So what shall I spend this newfound treasure on, you ask? Well, around a year ago (Some of you may remember this, but I doubt it) my father bought me a .270 rifle and accessories for something around $730 CAD. However, I could only have it if I paid it back. Now, not having a job, you can imagine I've been paying it off at around $5 a time, and so I'm currently down to $410 remaining. With the check, this leaves $90 to spend on whatever. I'm not the greatest spender, and I'm planning to get a job this summer to put some money in for my education, but I simply must have Super Mario Galaxy 2 when it comes out later this month. I bought the first, and it was great. I just recently beat it after owning it for 2 years (120th star sucked) and am pretty much done with it. I realize that SMG2 will basically be the same thing with a new storyline and a few gimmicks, but as I said I enjoyed the original immensely, so…

Oh yeah, and that job I was talking about, the money will probably go to my education *after* I buy a full suit of stormtrooper armour. Being a Never Ending Radical Dude such as myself, this is a must have! I can see it now: Walking around in town… with stormtrooper armour. Riding my bike… with stormtrooper armour. Applying for a job… with stormtrooper armour. Getting married… with stormtrooper armour…. The world is MINE!

$500 is a pretty respectable amount of money. I'd like to have that spare right now! It'd sure help out with the rent.

Give him back his rifle and buy yourself an iPhone, an iPad, a Twitter, a FaceBook, and other video games, sonny.

Put it into a 3-year closed deposit account. You'll thank yourself later.
