Fuck

Haha, chiken, my blog title won't get 'ciribot'-ed! XD

I still have no sound driver. So, any GM game that uses sound_loop freezes up, or lags horribly.

I went to COMPUsa today, to see if I could save a couple bucks of shipping by buying DarkBasic there. Now, they only had pro there, right? But before I found it, I asked the guy working there if they had DarkBasic. He goes "What's that?" And I told him it was a programming language. He instantly goes "No, we don't carry any programming languages." Now, I found it, and I went back to the guy, and showed it too him. He goes "Oh, that's not a programming language. It's a creation tool. See? It says so on the box." I go "Dumbass." and walk away. Now, another employee came up to me a couple minutes later, after hearing it all. He apologized for the service, and said that the guy was new, and sorta arrogant. I agreed, and went off.

Okay, so I made my first "Game", if you can call it that, in DarkBasic. This shit makes huge .exe's!!!! It's hardly an engine, and it's already 5.22 mb! WTF!!! But you can download it here if you want… All you can do is move so far.

When I can talk to a guy I know named Matt, I might get a shitty little computer, like, 8 RAM, for 20 bucks. I plan on taking a stab at OS programming on it.

I am pretty sure I got vehicles working in AV, but I can't test. I am going to make sound an option that is initially off when I get around too it, so I can test it.

I am still working on a shooter in GM 4.3, it's going okay. I'm gonna add a menu, maybe a different gameplay mode, add more levels, etc. And then if I get a sound driver, music. Do they accept GM4 games here?

I am going to start a Game project too. It's going to be based on the Second Scottish Independence War. Now, I'm not Scottish, but it gives me a perfect chance for 4e5. The emblem being the Scottish Flag, war is full of emotions, It's in Europe, and as for economics, it's an economic game. Because older European Style fighting is basically non-interactive, you will merely watch the battles. You will play as a General, and you must pay people you enlist, write letters to their families when they die, etc. It's basically a simulation game. How do you like the idea?

Also, does anyone know any good, easy programming languages besides VB, DB, GM, and anything .NET?

As long as it's an executable, you probably can. :)

I'm going to laff at the filesize now:

HAhahahahaHahahaha.

Seriously, that thing is 5.23 megabytes?

GM = much better

GM = Doesn't support as many 3D functions.

Also, the trial is interperted. The real version is compiled, which makes it ALOT faster than GM. :)

You can get a free copy of delphi at www.borland.com, It's pretty easy to make windows applications. But don't expect to make games in it. You can, offcourse, but THAT will not be easy. You can make "notepad" in a single day thought.

ZOMG!!! HILARIOUS!

8 ram won't run windows >_>

@Onyx: I have visual basic for that, where I can make Notepad in 2 minutes. Literally.

@Kenon: Yes, I know. I am going to take a shot at OS programming. It will be used for a 'hello world' esque OS, and basic functions, until I get the hang of OS Programming.
