Free forum software = no!

lol here comes another one of FFs rants, enjoy!

I'm sure you are all aware that 64digits now has a new forum. And you may also notice that they didn't code it themselves!! That is an outrage!! Every feature we use on this site is staff coded by 64ds dev team. I mean we had a perfectly decent forum that just needed fixing up a bit. So why do a GMG and shove something in that isn't even your own work? From what i've seen the staff here are perfectly capable of making a decent forum but the fact that they are using free forum software is just lazyness!!

So what are we going to do about this? Well i am goin to refuse to use the new forums and i hope you will all join me. The old forum still exists so i suggest using that http://www.64digits.com/forums (and by use it i don't mean spam it! *glares at MrShrub and sumo*) then the staff will get the point that they should work on it rather than try and replace it with their free forum.

A note to staff: come on guys really? This site despite all the things everyone moans about is pretty professional but it's not very professional of you to do that is it really? Please i beg of you work on the old forums a bit and just leave the free one there temporarily till you get them sorted.

Ok i think that's my rant over and btw i'm not critisizing i'm helping make 64digits the best it can be. So with that said what's going on in my life… well suprisingly i'm still at college because a few weeks ago i was about to drop out but i'm sticking at it now. Some of the lessons are extreamly boring and we've had 5 assignments already :( However programming classes are fun so it's worth doing the course just for them even though my VB teacher hasn't turned up all week so we had a student teacher who everyone just takes the piss out of.

btw my first ever application programmed in VB. It's the worlds most basic calculator but yeh it's the first time i've ever done VB and i'm still the bast in the class at it.

The other lessons i have are how ICT affects society which is pretty boring but i'm still working ok in it and system specification and configuration which i guess is ok but sometimes dull. I'm only there 3 1/2 days a week so i suppose i can live with college for the next 2 years. But the number one thing i hate about it is the lack of money!! A friend of mine actually gets £120 a month for being in education but i don't get a dam thing because my parents are too rich. I demanded that they pay me £120 a month which they should really give me when you think about it but.. no!!! they won't!! so now i'm forced to find a weekend job and waste my a lot of my free time working since i need to save up for a Triumph TR7. However they are going to buy me driving lessons for my birthday but they better put money towards my car too!!

And thus ends another Firefly blog, Thanks for reading nao leave a comment!

V3 will likely be getting its own fully custom coded forum
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Those two words are wrong.

@ Melee - I wouldn't mind being the one doing the writing of said forums :D I think it would be a worth undertaking!

FireflyX 16 years, 7 months ago

Look at that there's even people willing to do it!

I would work on the 64d forums if I could, but alas I can not.

Ill just work on my own forum software =p

I demand that a staff member posts the forum scripts so that we can all help. It can be like a community project :D
