Battlefield 2142 is definitely an acquired taste. It's somewhat dark levels can sometimes be a turn off to players who spent many hours playing BF2. But if you're willing to give it a chance, you will definitely end up falling in love with BF2142's levels and unlocks. It's the best feeling on earth when you drive into an enemy base, run some helpless soul over with the jeep-type-vehicle, get out and unload on the two closest victims and then dive for cover while 5 different n00bs are trying to fill you full of led. BF2142 lost my vote as soon as I found out that it is nearly impossible to flip a helicopter and jump out with the result being hitting a group of enemies with a falling helicopter.
They fucking flip themselves back over the right way before crashing. WTF is that? Battlefield Vietnam (the best BF game in the series) is survived only by true BAMFs like myself, who kick ass in helicopters, since that is the true test of your skills in that game. BF2142 basically says "Who needs skill when we have cheap crap we lifted from every other game out today? People won't notice, because we have Mechs! Yeah, that hasn't been done for a few years so it's innovative!"Fuck that. BF2 isn't even that great. I'll wait for the next one.Why the hell do they call it Myspace? @SJF - BF Vietnam - definitely loved that game. Definitely the best in the series.
