Tile Practice

Yesterday I went ahead and practiced a bit of tile work in BYOND. It's generally not too difficult to make basic tiles do what they're supposed to do. Making them do that and be interesting as well? That might take some time. I consider it a good beginning.

My assistant, Mr. Hat, was originally painted white, but got a tan after he didn't show up too well on that sandy floor. Why sand? The focus was going to be on the wall tiles so I just threw something random down for some ground.

Yes, I'm a nostalgia nut who likes the retro feel. I may abandon that in due time, but probably not until it stops being fun. Or maybe just until I have the time to get comfortable drawing pixels in higher detail.

Are the maps static or randomly generated?

Your stone is awesome but your other tiles need some work. They're a bit too plain at the moment.

It's okay, I like looking at pictures more than reading too.

Static for now. Just maze patterns I laid down to see how the tiles were doing. I'm working on the randomizer today, so that's in the works. :)
