The long blog strikes back.

My last few blogs have been rather short, in case you didn't notice. Most of my blogs, however, were rather long, and so I am returning to tradition in this most recent blog. You might not read it all, and I am fully aware of that, but hopefully when you skim you'll have the gist of it. Prepare to be bored to death in 3… 2… 1…

Life:

I'm now in the 2nd quarter of my 2nd year at the local community college. I have British literature at 8:00 AM, rather early, but so far I like the class. We watched a movie about Oliver Cromwell during the first week, and have just finished reading Paradise Lost. I then spend two hours doing either my homework, or fiddling around on my laptop, and if I'm lucky I see a few friends. At 11:00 AM, I head of to my history/geography/political science course, which I find rather enjoyable. The teacher is awesome, this is my third course of his. I love the course, but there's this kid who sits next to me who can't seem to spend five minutes without either saying something, or causing trouble for me. For example, shaking the table to make me mess up my notes, stealing one of my pencils, asking me if I'm a terrorist/communist/nazi in a rather loud voice during the middle of class, and other fun things like that. He does think of me as a friend already, and he seems like a nice guy in general, so I don't want to hurt his feelings, but his antics are really starting to get on my nerves… Anyhow, I have an hour between that class and my last one, which is calculus 1. I've already taken calc 1 before, and I remember everything I learned, but my credits won't transfer unless I bring my grade up. My last calc teacher was tough as nails, but he taught the material very well, and I understood everything. This guy has easy tests, but assigns way too much homework, and then explains the lesson in a way that feels more like a summary. I think I'll do fine, as it's all review for me anyway, I just feel sorry for the half of the class that isn't just retaking it because they failed last quarter's calculus class.

Gaming:

Well, after six months mourning the loss of our beloved Tales of Vesperia disc, we've finally ordered a new copy off of Amazon and are eagerly awaiting its return. It will be nice to play that again. I also got to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on our new surround sound system with a friend of mine, and it was awesome. He has an HDTV at his house, and even he could agree that playing it on our home theater system was just plain epic. Now imagine if we did have an HDTV, now that would be epic, though my head might asplode on account of too much awesomeness.

Game - making:

I've had a lot of ideas lately, but haven't had a good start on any of them. My latest involves a game in the same style as Experimental, but of course, much more fleshed out. Actually, the only similarity would be the art style. If you want to see what I've got so far, here's the two main character's sprites and portraits:

v3:

I take it you've all seen Arcalyth's latest v3 frontpage. I think it looks great, I hope we'll see it implemented soon. Maybe a new version of 64Digits will breathe new life into this site and get us some fresh traffic.

End:

That's it for now, not as long as I hoped it would be, but still fairly lengthly. Have a nice three day weekend.

Being called a communist gets you in trouble: welcome to America.

What are you studying?

Hah, it doesn't get you in trouble, I just don't want people to think that I am one. :P

The class is called "Border and Genocidal Conflicts in the Modern World". :D

Because the concept of a national border has relevance nowadays.

nh I think that guy's trying to slow you down but whatever :p I don't know the whole story so I can't judge.

Hmm, the sprites look great, but there's a bit too much black on the outlines/shading. I see the pencil tool used on parts.

Of course, it might help to see other graphics, or know what the style of the game is.

Nice portraits. The only suggestion I have is making a visible edge on the hair mixing in with the left eye (their left, our right) on both faces.

lol I totally just watched that video on Cromwell in history class too. Im assuming its the same one cause I can't imagine there is a large selection on that topic.

Picture looks cool, but I'd have to see more to say more.

ye your right this blog really can't be considered a long blog, but its sure alot longer than some peoples…
