4D COMPUTERS!?

Hahaha, now i've got more viewers to my blog thanks to my trusty topic.

Ok, lets get onto business…

Firstly, I'm being paid to make a website for this small-business.. the business pretty much allows people to hire a fire truck for like chlidrens birthdays or school formals, etc, and then they ride on it and so on. So i'm hoping for some critique view on the site (so far).

There are 4D shapes, but nothing we have can "show" them, they're merely mathematical.

Lucky, getting paid… =P

Anyways, you did a good job on the site Rhys.

Mmm, 4D…So frustrating.

As for the site…Well, the colours you used are kinda…I dunno…Too contrasty. (Like the orange to the gray)

And I've never really been that big of a fan of gradients. When Canadonian designed these comment boxes, I hated them. But now I've grown used to them. (Although apparently they look horrible in FF. Stupid FF)

But hey, I don't know much about "appealing" design. I like stuff small, bland, compact, and simple.

I guess the gradients are fine, but you should really do something about the orange on gray. I realize that if you made the whole site gray, it'd be boring, and wouldn't give off that "fire/truck" feeling, and making it all orange and red would make the page too bright. Unfortunately, I can't sugest any alternatives….

Don't. Show. That. Site. To. Canadonian.

He will kill you for it.

those colours are WAY too saturated. Try having a more gray therme with red and yellow highlights, ionstead of crazy big sections of red/yellow gradients.

So basically, keep the Flash, that'll work well enough. Keep the menu - it works. kill that massive gradient. Replace it with a darker gray wiuth white text, and work in the red/yellow in other deign elements - hyperlinks, maybe in horizontal lines, dark shapes of red for bulleted lists…
