Crawling Details

Posted by Scott_AW on May 6, 2007, 8:48 p.m.

Happy am I that a projects section has been created, even if its kind of buggy(every time I edit it will delete the title past 'The') and will now use it as my destination for the advancement of my current work in progress titled 'The Crawl'. I'm sure a few …

Posted by Scott_AW on April 20, 2007, 4:50 a.m.

I've just about finished up my player stats for my upcoming game, now called 'The Crawl'.

So far the screen shot which contains a screenshot from my COW rpg as a background(its not really being rendered) Is almost fully functional. Armor, hit, attack, dodge, parry, block are just randomly generated …

Easy Sprite Creation

Posted by Scott_AW on April 13, 2007, 11:11 p.m.

I had previously sent the following tutorial to another of the community to help them make sprites easy and good. Since he seemed to benefit from it and its "Good" Friday and all(where I'm at) I decide to share this to community in hopes that the artisticly impared can make …

RPG Formulas kill my mind.

Posted by Scott_AW on April 13, 2007, 4:50 a.m.

It was a slow day at work so I grabbed some scratch paper and began to work out formulas for my 3d RPG project. I've put the editor on hold for a moment to work out the combat and item system.

I'll be making a seperate gm6 for it for …

More Efficient

Posted by Scott_AW on March 23, 2007, 4:42 a.m.

With more time to kill, I found myself a chance to work more on my map maker. One challanging problem was the massive amounts of memory it original started to suck out of my system. It start out fine, then as you load maps and so on it would climb …

I managed to squeeze some free time out of life to work a little on my 3d game's map maker. Heres the results of a memory/cpu usage test.

Test 1: 3/10/07 10pm for build #3 on Work Computer

Testing memory and processor consumption for 20 area maps.

Bastards.

No not you, them.

This whole yoyo games thingy seems like such a farce. When I first learned of GM I was excited and thrilled at its potential of expanding the amatuer gaming universe as well as allowing me to take a new approach to game developing that allows more …

Stripped of name

Posted by Scott_AW on Feb. 18, 2007, 10:11 p.m.

Well I've decided to rebuild my 3d rpg project(formerly known as COW) from the ground up. As mentioned in prior blogs, I've begun designing an editor system that will control all content in the game.

Heres a what I've done so far with the map maker interface.

Shi_t Delete

Posted by Scott_AW on Feb. 16, 2007, 8:50 p.m.

Shift delete killed the map maker. When erasing some old files I somehow completely deleted the folder in which housed my sidescroller map maker.

Which is pretty shitty in itself.

Anyways I moved on and set up a new folder for my current reworking of a 3d rpg.

I've sketched …

Whats so normal?

Posted by Scott_AW on Feb. 10, 2007, 10:17 p.m.

Just how can one accurately calculate normals? I still have no clue. I'm no math wiz, I slept through my last year of math because I didn't need the credits…actually I even drew a 30 some odd page comic about a cow druid in my graphing book for math, but …
