YoYo Games; Why does everyone hate them?

Hi,

I just wanted to know why everyone hates YoYo Games. They are a good company. Sometimes they are informal, such as when writing the terms of services, but is that the whole reason?

Please give YoYo Games a fair answer; I mean seriously, they made a better site than Mark alone did. The only bad thing was them using softwrap, but that doesn't mean the world ends, now does it?

Ack, addendum to that: From what I've read/see, it also seems YYG is taking control of 64D. Personally I don't like the sound of it, but I'll see what happens from here as well.

@ avl1991 - I think YYG are trying to take over all GM related websites and publications, they've taken over MarkUp too!

YoYo Games chose the wrong children's toy to name themselves after. They should have gone with rubik's cube.

Well, I don't like yoyogames(Except the money you can win) and that's probably the only reason i registred there.

Instantplay is sure nice BUT, i don't want Yoyogames to take over all the gmsites and stuff.

Sure, they can help Mark with gm, but i don't want them to steal everything, they're new, just some supporters.

Why do they deserve everything related to gm?

They are the ones developing GM now remember. By mainstreaming Game Maker and opening it to a wider audience, I'm sure many new people will find unofficial sites too for the things YYG does not do well (ie a community) so other GM sites aren't under threat. Arguably they are helping other communities by increasing GMs userbase.
