Diary of a Noob

Posted by TCHRacoon on May 1, 2007, 7:49 a.m.

Well, I must admit. I am a noob. But I've improved a lot in the last two years. Let me tell you an absolutely useless and boring story about the life of a noob. (ME!!!)

It all started when I was a little boy. At that time a was afraid of the computer. I thought that if I would make only the slightest mistake my computer would blow up ar catch fire or something. But, as I grew up, my curiosity won from my fear. I found out that the worst thing a computer can do is crash. And the whole blowing up thing was a myth. But still the computer was only used for small sucking internet games and my homework.

But then secondairy school came. And I ended up with a class consisting out of a bunch of nerds, oh sorry, I mean 'experienced computer users' which allmost only talked about computers and games. So I was forced to use the computer and play games they played. And so I did and I found out that some games where fun and way better then internet games.

Then I started to think, why couldn't I create my own games? and I googled game making and I found Game Maker. A perfect solution to making games for Noobs!

Oh, By the way, please correct my grammar mistakes. I'm Dutch and my English isn't perfect!

Your grammar is pretty great. Though "Yeay and I'm just member' should be 'Yeay and I just became a member'. Other than that pretty freaking good for a dutch speaker.

Newb not Noob…

Newb is someone who is new to something

A noob or n00b is someone that lacks intellegance or common sense and sucks at life.

You don't seem like a noob to me.

That's the common misconception a lot of adults seem to assume.

Heh.

The 'catch on fire' thing actually has happened. Moreso with laptops though, 'cause some laptops have bad batteries. Saw an interesting video at a Japanese convention/board meeting something with a bunch of businessmen.

You've obviously never murdered your partition table, blown out your power supply, had your motherboard snap, had case damage from heat warping, melted a graphics card…
