Hey!
Been a member here for a month or something, but haven't posted anything yet.I have been working on a super mario kart clone that will, if we get fresh graphics ready in time, compete in the fifth competition at yoyogames. The game itself is close to being finished, and currently has these features:3 difficulties - easy, medium and hard15 characters, 8 original ones and 7 recoloured by Kale Nakamaru15 tracks divided in 3 cups15 items from all of the mario kart versionsRace against the fully working AI in grand prix mode, or beat your previous highscores in time trial modeI'm also thinking about making it online, but that requires me to learn how to make online games first, so it won't happen soon.Controls:Accelerate, brake, turn: Arrow keysChoose, handbreak (used for skidding): ZBack, use item: XIf you manage to skid for more than 1.5 seconds, you'll get a small, handy boost.Gameplay video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_SUXVmKpCMDownload:http://www.yoyogames.com/games/110042-mario-kart-remakeGMC topic:http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=460071&hl=Tell me what you think!
How can the prize to get the game on psp? They made one of the requirements to only have the d-pad and one button. To me it sounded like they wanted a cheap plastic game that comes with a happy meal.
Did anyone actually try the game? :P
Many people, both here and other places, have suggested that I make my own graphics and release the game as a mario kart-inspired racing game. And that has been my plan since I released the first demo.I have a pro spriter who volunteered to make the graphics, but he's rather busy at the moment, and can't guarantee they will be finished by the time the competition ends. Also, if we enter the comp, I will rework the controls to fit the requirements.I have never heard anything about the winner actually getting their game on psp?
