Hey!
Been a member here for a month or something, but haven't posted anything yet.I have been working on a super mario kart clone that will, if we get fresh graphics ready in time, compete in the fifth competition at yoyogames. The game itself is close to being finished, and currently has these features:3 difficulties - easy, medium and hard15 characters, 8 original ones and 7 recoloured by Kale Nakamaru15 tracks divided in 3 cups15 items from all of the mario kart versionsRace against the fully working AI in grand prix mode, or beat your previous highscores in time trial modeI'm also thinking about making it online, but that requires me to learn how to make online games first, so it won't happen soon.Controls:Accelerate, brake, turn: Arrow keysChoose, handbreak (used for skidding): ZBack, use item: XIf you manage to skid for more than 1.5 seconds, you'll get a small, handy boost.Gameplay video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_SUXVmKpCMDownload:http://www.yoyogames.com/games/110042-mario-kart-remakeGMC topic:http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=460071&hl=Tell me what you think!
Looks good. Racing AI is especially hard so well done.
Where's the big fish at the end? :P
Just watched the video, but wow. That's pretty impressive.
From the video it lookss good, I'm sure that if you come up with a original game in the future it'll be awesome. I'll download it later if I have time.
Nice, it's like Mario Kart GBA minus the GBA character sprites.
Thats pretty freaking amazing.
If you are gonna submit this game for the Yoyogames competition, be sure to drop a key since atm this game doesn't follow the rules.
But that doesn't take away the fact that this game is pretty cool.:O wow :O
The tracks seem shorter, and also you had to jump a lot to stay on course.pretty incredible work right there. I would have liked to have seen a game inspired by Mario Kart though, rather than a clone - it feels like you missed a great opportunity to add your own identity to it.
@sir Xemic - He won't win since the prize is to get your game on PSP, and having Mario Kart on a non-Nintendo platform will never happen (legally).
As for the game, I'll check it out.
