Poor Unfortunate Sony

Gamestop has just detailed their instore PS3 pre-orders. They expected, because of the extreme shortage, that there would only be 8 consoles per store, 16 if there was a big store. In order to preorder, you would have to pay 100 dollars in trade-ins, cash, check, or credit card. (A little questionable about the credit card though) That really must suck for the die-hard Sony fans that vowed to get a PS3 at launch day. That is definitely not going to be the same case for Wii. Nintendo has already reported that 2 million Wii units are ready for sale. If 4 million were headed to the US, that means each store would get approximately 80 Wii systems, 160 if it is possible. I, however, am not getting a PS3, so I really am not worried. Though I am watching very carefully about Wii Pre-orders. I have made sure that I will pre-order one somehow and get it at launch day.

You're just worried that Sony is still going to pwn Nintendo, and the reason you won't buy a PS3 is because it's so expensive.

Me personally, I am getting a PS3, not at the release date, but shortly after.

Playstation is the best game system line of all time.

Guess what? Nobody is going to get a PS3. The very few PS3s delivered to a store will be bought by the employees (permitting they're allowed).

Yes, but that's just at the launch date. [;)]

I'll be getting a PS3, I've already talked to my friend, who owns a game store, they're all getting one, but they will have some left. (4)

Frankly, I think that the console wars nowadays are bullshit.

As we know, at launch, no system is used to it's potential, mainly because of the dev kits. For example, the PSP launch games could only use 1/3 of the PSP's CPU.

So, the XBox 360 has been out for quite a bit, meaning that the 360 games will be about as good as PS3 launch games. Not to mention the fact that because Sony wants the public to get everything very soon (which can be a good thing), the first generation of Sony technologies are often very buggy.

So, the way I see it, I think that it would be worth it to get a 360, now or at the PS3 launch, when it will probably go down in price. Then, a while after the Wii's launch, get one of them. That way there will be more games for you to choose from initially, and any possible bugs in the Wii will be fixed. Then, after a while, get a PS3, because the graphical capabilities are far superior to the other consoles.

I dont like the word "console war". I just want everyone to be nice to eachother. Think how good it would be if sony, microsoft and nintendo made a console together.

It would be crap I tell ya!

@contrendo: if sony, microsoft and nintendo all made a system together it would most likely be good, but then they could charge whatever they wanted for it because there would be no need for competitive prices.

Really sony won't need that many systems in each shop because by the time they fineally get round to releasing the PS3 they'll have missed christmas by a long shot and won't sell as many as they could have. Unless of course they wait till christmas 07, but that would just be retarded.
