Many, MANY more updates here:

Splash Screen, more objects (walls actually exist), newer sound effects, carious tweaks, score, timer working a bit better, etc.

We're almost at a "final" release for the competition. ALMOST.

As with before, make sure you extract all files, and they're all in the same directory. If you still have older versions, remove them.

A few edits - nothing too drastic, but here's the latest version of the game:

Aww yeah. The contest entry I talked about but posted almost nothing of. And unnecessarily censored. Thank you, Conan.

And here it is:

Something playable, at least. Incomplete but playable (and to an extent, "winnable").

Entering The Ca\

"Entering the Cave". A minor issue that I'll have taken care of. Either by nixing the level name or something more… awesome.

Maybe show in the middle of the screen and have it fade away, or display it in the top left corner. That would make the top right a bit empty, though. Might have to move the score and items up in that case.

Was thinking of doing a scrolling thing (scrolls from side to side if the level name is too long for the area).

Still not sure what kind of transition to use between levels… though any other suggestions you could give? Critique and whatnot from what you can see in it's current state? If you haven't played it, there's a demo for you to take a look at towards the top of the blog. Just make sure the DFL files are in the same directory (and make sure it's all unzipped).

UPDATES SO FAR:

(These are not to the downloaded file, just the current build I'm working on):

- Arrow to determine the fireball's starting direction

- Defining what those snowflakes are for (DIFF - difficulty)

- Nice splash screen.
