Ares and Others

I was recommended a program called Ares for downloading media by a friend. This friend isn't very computer-wise though, and I wanted to know if any of you had any opinions of it.

Norton is being a bitch. It's possible the second-most annoying program I've ever used, after AOL browser. Which is weird, considering it's pretty minor. I choose to customise my system tray icons and tell Norton to hide always, but every time I boot up it changes it back to always show, apparently by itself. It's pretty minor but it's still annoying the crap outta me.

School is really pissing me off. It's only Monday and I'm already sick of it.

Had my first puff of weed today. I don't get what the big deal is. I guess it's mainly the social aspect of it. Although, I hardly think it was stuff of any quality. Either way, I'm not that fussed.

I got the World of Warcraft 10-day free trial. I've tried it out, and I'm not extremely impressed. Having big worlds is fine as long as you have something to fill it with other than farging trees. Dying is annoying 'cause you have to either get resurrected on the spot with the penalty of having all your stuff wrecked and being miles away from where you died, or go to your corpse and resurrect only to be killed again by giant monsters. Finding shops and stuff isn't intuitive at all, and hardly any of them have anything useful. Only the nub places seem to have any people in them. If I can find someone else who plays the game that I know, I'll probably stick with it. Otherwise, it really doesn't seem any better than Guild Wars at all.

WoW is still better than Runescape, probably.

Dump Norton, get Active Virus sheild. It's a free antivirus from AOL, believe it or not, but it is really Kaspersky with the AOL logo on it.

It doesn't require an AOL account, and you wouldn't notice it is from AOL unless you were really paying attention.

Kaspersky is the hands-down best consumer antivirus you can buy, and it is very fast and unobtrusive. I would highly recommend it.
