More specifically, what is the most infuriating or otherwise painful part of game development? Listing multiple things is encouraged, with the most annoying listed first.

Just the amount of time it takes to make a game, especially compared to other artistic endeavors. I can write a song in a day if I get really into it. Meanwhile, I've been working on my RPG entry pretty much nonstop for 2.5 months and it'll have maybe 30 minutes of gameplay. And my most popular game took me 3+ years to make.

1) When something seems like it'd be a breeze to code in your head, turns out to be a infuriating piece of shit to code.

Hehe.

Adding actual content… that's my biggest trouble.

Mostly I agree with Polyman. I've had a few projects in particular that have eaten away phenomenal amounts of time, even for something trivial like me just trying to get motivated to work on it. For me it's not a matter of keeping interested in something I started. Generally most of what I start has some meaning to me, so it's not if it gets finished, but when.

This is the most time-consuming thing I've ever done, but also the most satisfying.

Opening up that first object and starting is always my biggest trouble. I hate starting a project.

Seriously? For me, starting is the part where I'm most productive.

1) Not being able to fix something in your code.

2) Not able to figure out how to programs something.

3) Not being able to finish a single freakin game.

0) animations
1) not knowing how to code something I really want in my game…

2) all those graphics, no animations

3) horrible gameplay, after spending so much time on graphics

100) graphics, they're easy

1. tedious work like programming huge RPG menus or programming a long list of weapons which have nothing but point values different from one another. basically anything that's easy but needs to be done in large amounts.

2. designing top-down rooms (mostly for RPGs) i really hate making towns and forests and all that crap. it's incredibly boring. the total opposite to building a platformer room which is built for challenge. i enjoy building rooms for action-based games.

3. i also hate getting stuck on some concept, usually a bug i can't get around or something. it's one of my top reasons for giving up on certain projects.

4. being unable to produce good graphics to go with my games. it completely disables me from making any games requiring high graphical detail (mostly 3d games)

other than that. i usually enjoy making games. the concept design is what i enjoy most. thinking of unique concepts for game mechanics or story concepts is the best part.

1. Technical stuff that gets in the way of being artistic.

2. Everything that can be done has been thought of, and your project will be a clone of something else, usually.

3. (Only if you publish) There will always be inferior, shitty games that will steal your spotlight.
