More specifically, what is the most infuriating or otherwise painful part of game development? Listing multiple things is encouraged, with the most annoying listed first.

Have a +1 for not lurking.
Starting a project and getting loads of work done, only to get caught up on something and forget about it.
Here's another one. Making a slight alteration to, say, an enemy's damage, and accidentally invoking a new, hardly related bug.
In fact, fixing bugs to create more bugs is one of my biggest annoyances.Based on the answers here, I'm pretty sure 50% of people on 64digits are artists who need to get someone else to do the programming for them.
That's so the truth. If I had time to focus on my art no telling how far i'd be into content with my game. I should have teamed up with someone early-on in development instead of spending half a year updating old code and fixing bugs.
I don't even know where I stand on the art/programming side. I think I'm in the middle.
Then that means I'm still an amateur at game design. My ideas seem to be too simple. Without a little assistance they're doomed to stay that way.
i marginally dislike producing a feature and having it break the shit out of everything else
I can never find enough original music/effects, it makes me lose my motivation every time. Same thing with good graphics, but I can make good enough graphics for some of my game projects so sound is the big issue.
