Video Game Censorship

Posted by ffalcon on April 27, 2006, 3:26 p.m.

What do you think? Should Congress be more concerned with video games being a little graphic than a war, a failing economy, and rising gas prices?

I say no. It should be up to parents to monitor what their kids see. Too many parents are reliant on the Xbox to babysit their kids, however. The bureaucracy shouldn't ban sales of good video games because today's parents have checked out.

People like Hilary Clinton and Jack Thompson wil come after us, however, and it's time for gamers and programmers alike to let our voices be heard!

i never said children should have ao games. However, the rating is bad for sales.

The articles are also monitored quite strictly. I mean you can't just go on and post a fact that you have no proof of.

The goverment is too obsessed with things that don't matter, over things that do matter. The Iraq and video game stuff is a perfect example.

God, somehow I got from that article you posted all the way to stuff about sexual positions. 0.o That's Wikipedia for you. I've done massive subject changes on there many times before too, like going into cryogenics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guy_Game

fine, that page links to the direct page about "The Guy Game" where is DIRECTLY STATES that the game was released once again without the girls' picture in it, meaning that it was not banned, it just had to stop release and release a new version without the illegal content in it.

Quote:
There is now a version for PC with the said person removed. Despite this, however, used copies of this game can still be found in some stores.

That is a direct quote, dumbass.

When wikipedia contradicts itself 4 tiems in one article, you should be able to assume that the person that posted does not have all the fucking facts.

You Lose. Commence Killing Yourself.

They say that it was banned, but federal laws say that a game with illegal content inside such as that are not banned, but pulled from shelves. It is a wrong wording on the behalf of the writer of that article.

Postal² possession, not just the sale, is forbidden in New Zealand and Australia.
I hate that game, but still, thank god I live in the US.

"quote" should not be capitalized… it doesn't work that way (although it SHOULD)

Damn it. I want to play Postal. Stupid NZ censorship.

At least I don't have to censor my own games. I'll put whatever the hell I like in them.

If you want a full version of Postal, non-edited, I can have it shipped to you for a fee lol
