Final Survey Results (+Flash?)

Posted by fprefect111 on Nov. 22, 2008, 3:28 a.m.

Ok, I imagine this is going to be a particularly short blog even by my standards. But none-the-less, I've graphed all the basic data from the survey (Personal-Reference-free too!).

Find them here

Also, I've decided to dabble in ActionScript for a while, see where I can go with the new …

More data on gamers...

Another update on the survey information for you guys: the importance of various aspects to a game. This one's a lot more comprehensive than the previous one in that results are grouped based on the community groups. If you're wondering why it's taking so long, Google Docs isn't very good …

First Survey Results!

Posted by fprefect111 on Nov. 12, 2008, 6:58 a.m.

Hey guys, just figured I should let you know that I've finsihed collecting responses for the survey. In total, there were 1526 people who went to the trouble, around 40 or so were from 64Digits. Thanks again!

Anyway, here's the very simple, graph based on one section of the survey. …

Gaming Survey!

Posted by fprefect111 on Nov. 1, 2008, 4:11 a.m.

Ah, long time no update. Been trying to get away from games a fair bit to balance out my life and that again. Anyway, more importantly:

I'm creating a game for my Major Design Project in my final year at school, and one of the first requirements is for me …

Neat Trick! (Inside)

Posted by fprefect111 on Oct. 5, 2008, 8:35 p.m.

I've worked out a little trick to give a surface an alpha layer, after trying my best to understand extended blend modes and checking out GearGod's metaball example.

Created a "light" system where they don't brighten up the contents, but bring them into color!

Of course, it requires …

Ok hey, first off - my game made it as a runner-up in the YYG competition. Pretty swell, I'm happy. For those who haven't played it, here's a link, because I'm not trying to advertise my game at all:

Ok, now more importantly. I'm going to expand …

Eggs with Legs (and other such strange things)

Posted by fprefect111 on Aug. 22, 2008, 5:49 p.m.

Yeah, I finished my game!

It's evolved a lot from first conception, and definitely had plenty changes since my WIP release.

"Take control of multiple characters in this puzzle platformer - an egg with legs (and pants!), confused bombs, and more!

The game has been completely hand-drawn with pen-and-paper, it's …

Hey, improvements on this illustrated game!

Posted by fprefect111 on Aug. 11, 2008, 8:09 a.m.

Ok, it might not look like I've made a lot of progress but there's been a fair bit of extra effort I've put into this game to make it friendly and playable. And now I need to know if it's working :)

Added a tutorial, completely new set of levels, …

The Game of Life!

Posted by fprefect111 on Aug. 17, 2006, 7:18 a.m.

I've just finished the final touches on my redo of [url=en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway's_Game_of_Life]Conway's Game of Life. The grid's a little small (15*15), but it gets the job done nicely. And in my personal opinion it looks neat, too. It's been uploaded to 64Digits, so it should hopefully be up for download …

Fractree - Now with Extra Pretty

Posted by fprefect111 on July 25, 2006, 6:03 a.m.

I've been working more on Fractree… only about 30 minutes, but the actual tree generation seems to be as finished as it needs to be now. It looks a whole lot nicer with the color and glowy lines. Even better, sometimes they end up looking kind of like an actual …
