Because I felt like it.

Shift for the shield. Z for slow.

Whipped that up in one night.

I'm still working on it, but… is it worth it to continue, 64digits?

(And yes, I know someone else is making a bullet hell, but I wanted to see what I could do, so I did. So there. XP)

I'm glad you get infinite health, because that would've been rediculously hard.

Honestly, I didn't like the use of the red particle effects, I personally think they were overused. After a while they began to make my eyes hurt and the white particle effects weren't helping. But, I don't usually play bullet hell games, so for people who are addicted to bullet hell games like Kilin, might not have a problem with it, lol.

I do think though, that this is a nice twist on normal bullet hell's, and I'm sure plenty of other people could find an interest for it. But this game is not for me, lol.

well health isn't supposed to be infinite D:

it was working before, not sure what happened there…

but yeah, red is a bit over used XD

ah, nvm. I don't think I had infinite health, just played through it again. Died horribly.

It's on and off. Trying to fix it XD

A.. ahahahahahaha!

Okay, that… that was ridiculous.

I couldn't dodge a thing! How in the world could you ever have? :D

Also, the intro was a bit long. I was also confused on how to shoot, or something. If it's just for dodging, then okay then.

For the danmaku itself, I would suggest relying less on the random element.

Good luck!

Aren't there two people here doing that?

Two!? Oh wow XD.

And there's no shooting whatsoever. XD

I'm still working on everything.

Oh, you flatter me, but I'm actually very picky about what bullet hell games I play.

As for this, I have to agree with Taizen Chisou. The random element is something to be used carefully in bullet hell, and your effects ranged between too hard and too easy.

And what's the point of a hitbox when your player sprite is already so small?

The bullets are too fast and too random to even consider dodging, and it's really all about pressing the shield key now and then, or moving slightly on the streams.

The shield itself seemed to be bugged in the player's favor as well, because it recharged at the same rate it was depleted. So if you tapped it, it wouldn't be depleted at all, and you'd have your shield up most of the time.

I'm not going to complain too much here, because I understand it was done in such a short time. It was interesting, for sure. But a lot of bullet hell games go for making awesome-looking patterns to use as a distraction, though I guess here, the distraction was the size of the screen compared to anything else.

But it did look alright, especially considering you used two or three shapes and a handful of colors.

I'm re-working the spells to have more uniform difficulty and use random less.

As for the hitbox, I'm probably going to increase the player sprite.

I have fixed the shield now. D:

And there are more spells that use different shapes now. :D

Ships use spells? D=

I'm thinking of throwing my hat into the whole shmup/bullethell ring.

Edit: I'm much too lazy to work on yet another game engine. I'll probably just retool the piss out of the Lobster Engine.
