Since my last blog entry yesterday, I have been thinking of another way that music can affect people and the way that they behave.
I mean this by saying that the more different the music style, the more it has an affect to you on your behaviour.I say this because, for example, those people who listen to rap and R&B (which I absolutely do not like) would be affected by the music. I say that in this way as a few of my friends are greatly into rap, and they act like they don't give a damn towards the people and world around them.Although, this could be more of a psychological thing. If you think about it…what would class as the norm? The norm is what you would class as normal behaviour. The thing is though, this can be affected by many different things such as cultural influences and individual differences. This means that one persons definition of the norm in the world around them could be different to other people in their country or in another country.This is why it got me thinking about this, as music could play a part in the way people behave towards to the world and people around them.
Well yeah it does, but in a minor way.
Hmm.. I think it's the opposite, people choose the music based on their personality. A person won't like music that doesn't relate to them at all.
My taste in music is very broad… and some people would say I'm a bit of a strange individual. I don't think it's music that made me how I am.I would say it affects people in a major way. I feel like my entire personality has changed since I started listening to music.
Research "music therapy," because lots of other people have realized the power of music!When a friend was helping me when I was a bit depressed, she said to listen to some Alphabeat. So I went onto youtube and listen to some, and it actually cheered me up a bit, as it is 'happy' music.
I think its the other way around.
Your friends listen to Rap as a result of their cultural behaviour and beliefs.I agree with Mordi, I listen to the music I do because I am a badass, not because the music has made me a badass. If I weren't badass, I wouldn't be listening to it in the first place.
