To Ludamad and mastermind: My resume:

I was a member of the old forum (2002-era) for a year or two before joining the new forum in October 2003. I have used every version of GM from 4.3 to 6.1. I have gotten nearly-100% positive reviews, placed in one contest, won one contest, and have 2/3 of the votes in another ongoing contest. I have worked on over 15 public projects, and finished 9 of them so far.

Now, on to blogging.

Recently, I have been working on the graphical look&feel of Lions. To that end, I have added the following advanced features to my engine:

* light glints off water at sunset

* shading on ship models

* real-time cast shadows

* procedurally-generated terrain features

My other project, EotS, is in the beginning of its beta-testing phase. When it is released, it will be a 1-2 player RTS featuring a focus on units over economy, and on drawn-out tactical battles rather than unit rushing.

DFortun81: Thanks. (Although I'm sure a host of starcraft addicts would disagree)

I hope you'll like it even better with multiplayer. I expect a lot of strategies will become viable versus other players.

Starcraft kicks serious ass. But it wasn't 3D, and is almost 10 years old. If Blizzard was making this game, I'm pretty sure it would be on the level of Starcraft or Warcraft. But Blizzard has a large team of artists, programmers, etc, and an awful lot of money for things like marketing.
