It's finished. Now what?

So yeah, I've finished the game I've been working on for FOUR YEARS. It's amazing that I've managed to finally wrap that thing up. It was starting to really annoy me.

Well, actually, I finished the game last month. I've wanted to put it here in 64Digits but I haven't been able to because the game is 33 MB large and the uploader here apparently can't take that load because when it "finishes" uploading it merely half-loads the File Manager page and doesn't actually upload the file if I refresh the page afterwards. Using the "alternate URL" route doesn't seem to work either but then again it might just be me not using it properly. How exactly is that supposed to work? If I'm uploading a zip file should the end of the URL page be in .zip as well? Because I've tried linking to pages like Megaupload and it doesn't let me.

Either way, I wanna share the game with you guys so any suggestions as to how I can get it up here will be very much appreciated. I'm in the process of uploading the soundtrack on Youtube if anyone's remotely interested.

Not too long ago there was a problem with php where it only allowed ridiculously small file sizes for upload (something around 2 Mb I think). Knowing 64Digits, probably it is not fixed and nobody cared.

Why doesn't anyone fix these things >:(

Theres no option to change the 2mb setting, I looked all through the cpanel and tried various php options.

Websites that don't give you a direct link (with the .zip or whatever) wont work for alternate url.

That PHP option is actually configured in the php config file, so, you can't change it without root access to the server.

Oh well. Anyone recommend some direct-link free uploaders that I can use?

Quite a few to choose from, just google it. And a question to my lovely hansom mods, if I had a game over 2mb, could I host it on another server and then submit a fake file as my game with the correct download link to my game? In fact, you guys should just make it an option whether the game being submitted is in your file manager or hosted else where.

Use mediafire.com , although it isn't direct-link it doesn't force users to enter a captcha or to wait a minute before downloading.

I actually use mediafire to upload through URL to 64digits. When the site gives you the download link, I just copy the URL in 64D file manager.

2mb sounds like enough…to upload a negative quarter of Pong.

Game Maker automatically compiles games at like 2.22mb.
