(Not my) game demo

Ya'll should check this out:

This person has been working on this game for a while, and I've been following the dev on twitter. I got the demo this morning and its really cool so far. Very well polished for a demo.

It's made in GameMaker Studio (dunno if 2 or 1.4). Very pretty, plays well, and has some interesting takes on UI interactions, which I find pretty inspiring.

All in all, worth checking out, and is pay-what-you-want. I gave a little bit of money because I think the dev deserves it, but obviously if you are just like "wuzzis?" you shouldn't feel obligated to pay.

Fairly sure that the times I watched him stream he was using GMS2. Pretty impressive what he's done, really.

I've been following this game for two years or so, and just played the demo last night. While I've had some pretty mixed feelings on the developer's borderline obnoxious posting as well as the game's subpar dialogue and story setup, I have to say that it's very visually impressive and atmospheric. It strikes this bit of nostalgia I've had tucked away for about two decades now.

Actually, exactly what Kilin said. Except for only having followed for about half a year.

What genre is it? Puzzle?

Looks like one of those games with top-level graphics and gameplay from the 80's.

A.k.a. Hyper Light Drifter, Owlboy and… Cuphead?

Well anyway, doesn't seem like a game I would like playing.

I think its more of an adventure platformer. You're stranded on a planet you don't recognize and have to figure your shit out.

It could be interesting if there weren't already so many similar games out there. I haven't tried the demo, though, so maybe it has something unique in it.

(Says I who makes generic pixel art games with hardly any own ideas…)
