Posted by Astryl on Aug. 10, 2012, 4:48 a.m.

I am at work right now, working on an iPad.

I just realized… I don't have the slightest clue as to how this thing works, besides the mandatory basics, such as Internet use.

Also, this iPad lacks apps, and it also lacks permission to use the AppStore.

so, a question …

Procedural shmedural!

Posted by aeron on Aug. 9, 2012, 5:13 p.m.

Being a total roguehead myself I have been particularly interested in the recent blogs discussing procedural generation. Coincidentally I recently implemented a BSP dungeon generator for my latest project. Initially it gave me a lot of trouble despite it's theoretical simplicity, but with persistence I was able to get …

I'm talking about Nintendo's recent line up of old games being labeled new and released at $50. These games include:

- Donkey Kong Country Returns

- New Super Mario Bros.

hell almost ALL Nintendo games are basically remakes of their previous games. There are few exceptions. Here's what i consider …

Saw a blog about dungeon generation...

Here's my best shot at some random cave generation. It generates in around ~8 seconds.

The first few caves it spit out:

If anyone is interested, I could write more about how to do it, and other procedural generation theory. This is something I've been educating myself on, GameMaker-wise, for …

Fancy Instruction Manual for Dungeonmen: Men of Dungeons

Posted by kfharlock on Aug. 7, 2012, 6:22 p.m.

Hey all,

In light of some of the difficulties people were facing with Dungeonmen: Men of Dungeons having "too much content available" and an overwhelming abundance of options, coupled with the randomized behavior of things like chests and traps, I decided to put together an instruction manual that details all …

I'd like to exchange them for a plate of pristine chocolate chip cookies. Should this be a problem a plate of Macadamia nut cookies will suffice.

For real though, this website looks completely different than I remember it. Very, very nice. Except for the fact that Arcalyth took away my …
