V3 Nav

I've been reading a lot of the new comments about V3 and they're mostly good, which motivates me to continue improving the site. First thing first, the menu. It seems like a lot of you don't like how huge it is, so here is what it would look like on a diet. I've also made a mashup of the github menu into our template to see what it would look like with it a lighter grey.

Next up: the latest new. We can't have it looking like google ads, now can we?

(god my font is horrible. We gotta get the preferences working so i can change this eyesore)

I like the menu as it is. The bar on the left is too wide.

the front page blogs/news font doesn't allow for apostrophes

the menu is fine, its the sidebar which needs slimming

Alright. The left bar is easy to change, but I want to make sure it will work being smaller on all the pages before I change it.

Please use the second one. And where is the FAQ section?

I like the second one because it is gray and plain. It's simple, centered, and slim - exactly what I like in a menu bar. :P

Am I the only one who can't open 64D images in my browser window? Google Chrome, why do you mock me?

Acid 13 years, 3 months ago

They're working for me and I'm on chrome.

Never mind, they do work. I lied. I had too much to drink last decade.

I like the second one as well, but I'm still not a fan of the rollover submenus as they currently are. I think they'd be better if they were vertical like this:

Reason being that with the horizontal layout, it's easy to accidentally mouse over, say, QDB when trying to click File Manager, which changes the submenu you're working with.

Second one is best. And I agree with the above comment.
