Hey everyone! It has been a very long time since I released my last game, but I wanted to really spend a lot of time on this one. Runes of Chaos is a unique blend of Action-RPG and Top-Down Shooter, with a strong inspiration from Diablo games. The game features a robust item system, a spell system, realistic enemies, and much more. It has been in development for over 4 years now, and I'm excited to finally be able to release it!
The bad news, however, is that I have suffered a wrist injury which has unfortunately caused a very rare but extremely painful condition called RSD. Because of this, I have had no choice but to cut a LOT of content that I had planned for the game. As a result, the game is very short and I apologize for that. This also unfortunately means that Runes of Chaos is my final game, as I am no longer physically able to develop games.Bad news aside, please enjoy Runes of Chaos and let me know what you think. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! I have also recently updated my other game, Deathball 2D, to version 2.1 which contains many improvements and fixes. Deathball 2D is a Top-Down 2v2 Sports game with a strong emphasis on player skill. Feel free to check it out if sports games interest you. Thanks for reading, and I hope you like my new game! :)Runes of Chaos Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opqTdQxWieo(Sorry for the poor video quality!)
There's gotta be some way of getting around that. it's a great game… Not even taking it slow would work? Getting some keyboards better suited for the issue?
Well now I feel like a dick for complaining about the game's length :\
It's complicated, lol. I have to move the mouse with my left hand (my right arm is affected by the CRPS… and I'm right-handed!). I can't click the mouse with my left hand though, because it causes inflammation pain and carpal tunnel symptoms. So I have a special foot clicker which basically emulates the left and right mouse buttons. I have a headset with a sip/puff straw to emulate the left and right mouse buttons as well, but I mostly prefer the foot clicker. To type, I use the on-screen keyboard built into Windows 7. As you could imagine, it takes approximately forever to type. :P
@FerretYou shouldn't feel bad at all! I thought your review was completely fair and I agreed with it 100%. I'm actually glad that you enjoyed it more than I was expecting. :)I only posted this blog because I wanted to give a full explanation as to why the game was so short, since it's probably going to be the most common question/feedback that I get.That sucks man, I was going to play your game later anyway but now I'll definitely take the time to let you know what I think.
Welcome back to 64D you cunt
I love youwho the hell is thisthe game sounds cool though, I might play it when I'm done being a lazy shitholeWow. I admire your outlook on your situation.
@Toast
I appreciate that, thank you!@PanzermancerAlrighty then. :O@Polystyrene ManIt's actually a lot more grim than you think. You just can't tell right now because I'm so excited to finally release the game (well, at least a small part of what it should have been) that I've been working on for so many years. I'm actually really scared because the RSD keeps spreading and I'm thinking it'll eventually get to a point where I can't handle it. :(
